The people of southern Sudan live with terrorism and slavery every day, says a Sudanese Episcopal bishop visiting the Richmond area.
"Christians in the Sudan are being killed and churches are being burned," said Nathaniel Garang Anyieth, bishop of the Diocese of Bor of the Episcopal Church of Sudan.

I am generally a Bush apologist on this site, but this chaps my hide. At the very least, I would hope that covert activity against the aggressors is being pursued.
Take your pick--any or all of Libya, Saudi Arabia, Iran. Name any Muslim nation that has oil wealth available and you have a source of funding.
Dogbyte12: I really like your idea, and I'm willing to do what I can! Is there such a list?
Another thing I've wanted to do is to begin, to the extent possible, buying American. While I realize that that's very hard to do today--parts come from everywhere and American manufacturing is flying overseas--I would like to begin maybe buying less and be willing to pay more to compete against the slave wages of third-world countries. But I digress.
I've really been convicted lately that I do not pray faithfully for my brothers and sisters in Muslim countries who are persecuted on a daily basis. The Sudan and Nigeria are chief among them, although not the only ones. I would like to do what I could to practically help them as well as hold them up in prayer.
The Bush administration doesn't seem to give a rip, because they have a blind spot for oil.
I'm not sure I agree with you on this one. They wanted to drill for oil in ANWR and were stopped by dems and environmentalists. We need to drill for oil domestically and commit to conservation.
I would certainly support that. And why wouldn't it be legal? We have Arab "charities" that funnel money to terrorists there, "charities" to support Nicaragua, "charities" to support Irish Republican Army terror, "charities" to support Cuba, etc.
Give them the chance to make some kind of defense.
