I want to take a moment to say thanks to all!!!!!! As my post before withmy step-son's friend, we lost "little ray" at about 12:34 am. He held on til the end. Has been a rough 24 hrs. but I have survived. Went and saw the parents today and the services will be next week. THANK GOD I was able to see him on Tues. Seems like my step-son is accepting the fact that Raymond is gone, but he is also running from the fact. I think he will realize it nexy=t week at the service. I have basically volunteered to take care of the school and the friends doind something. My chain of command is informed and they seem to have no problem. After 4 years of friendship, I feel the loss as much as the parents. Although, seeing them tody and them telling me about Ray taking his last breath did me in. I could never imagine. He is at peace now and no more suffering. He will always be with us in spirit. Thanks for all you support.

Fireplace will be late tonight.

Got underway twice today doing family crew member cruises, after doing work in the Operations office.

At 3 PM PST we are going to eat.

At 4 PM PST I am going with one of the 47' boats that is going 20 miles offshore to meet with a tug boat that has the father of one of the three fires killed in Coos Bay a few days ago.

It would take the tug boat many more hours to get into port so the Coast Guard was asked to assist.

This will be the 1st time in over 30 some years that I have been this far off shore.
