I disagree with you about Fox's attempts to move Mexico forward. He has done much in privitisation. But the PRI still has more political power.

BS. Mexican trucks will be subject to the same regulations as ours.Horse dung. If you believe this, you will believe anything!
To: FITZ
How do you think the cocaine, marijuana, heroin and the rest are getting in? They've been having to unload at warehouses and then get them distributed later, this will be much more convenient and not many trucks are stopped or checked at the borders. End the War on Drugs ---it's definitely a farce with this move. We might as well save the money.
You know not dismissing the problem but the drugs and migrant talking points is null when you make the statement that many Mexican trucks are not stopped and inspected at the border. All Mexican trucks are subjected to inspection by U.S. authorities when they cross the border, and also to roadside inspections like their American counterparts.

And the INS keeps people from illegaly entering our nation.

You know not dismissing the problem but the drugs and migrant talking points is null when you make the statement that many Mexican trucks are not stopped and inspected at the border. Then you must not be reading the papers because there have been several trucks recently stopped in Houston and other places loaded with illegals. They obviously made it past Customs. It's anyone guess how many haven't been caught.

Good Lord. And you expect me to believe that Mexican trucks will get preferential treatment. LOL

:-) Whatever, pal. I have much more faith in my abilities to be an asset. Free Markets work every time they're tried.

I see a lot of Canadian trucks up close and they are ok.
I suspect the Mexicans will be also. If they are not they will be impounded and the trucker will be out of business. The state DOT's control the hiways and they have keen eyes and sharp pencils. The fines will flow if the trucks don't comply.
Just wait and see.

What people fail to realize is that the US insisted on a "takings clause" being part of NAFTA. If you were going to invest in Mexico, you would want that protection. The takings clause works both ways and the US refusal to admit Mexican trucks would be considered a takings, and the US would be liable for damages.
There has been much bad PR surrounding the takings cases associated with NAFTA and Mexico doesn't want any bad PR on trucking so they have jumped thru the hoops. All the inspection stations have been built. As to whether they would actually sue, eventually they would. In the mean time, they could retaliate. As you may have read, the prearranged NAFTA date for allowing US produce into Mexico is rapidly approaching. The Mexicans could say: if you don't let our trucks in, we won't let your produce in. This would be a major loss to the US.

Just to keep you up to date. There are over 10 million illegal aliens in this country. They are causing your taxes to rise to put them through school, keep them in jail, and to pay for their health care.

As a resident of San Antonio, I hope this will 'allow' only trucks that meet the same EPA standards that are required by US truckers. If this happens, it is a good thing! The trucks coming in now are not regulated and they can be very nasty.

Problem is there are a lot of 'grigos' like Bush that don't feel Mexicans should be subject to a lot of our laws, either.
To: Willie Green
Yup. that`s what Bush wants to do alright, destroy America`s middle class. Geeeeeee, you ought to be running the country

What is Bush thinking?? The *REAL* question, though most conservatives are afraid to ask it, is ... "Who must be buttering his toast for this to be part of the plan?"
Back in the good ol' days, when we did everything wrong and yet still managed to put man on the moon, they used to have sayings like "Follow the money."
Somehow we've become too sophisticated for those sayings that were once called "truisms". (Hmmm, wonder why they were called that???)

Good Lord. And you expect me to believe that Mexican trucks will get preferential treatment. LOL Good Lord no, of course not, they will go through the same exact requirement as American truckers, everything will be inspected on the thousands of trucks that cross over every day.
And every single unknown load will be taken off and searched, because after all, we are at war! Yes sir, they will be backed up to Rosarito Beach, while we are inspecting them as they cross.
After all, it's not like they are coming from one of the most corrupt nations on earth.
Boy, you don't miss anything, do you rudeboy?

Everything's on track for the formal merger of the United States and Mexico by 2014.
"Amexico" flag and currency design competition set for 2012. National anthem contest, "Nacional Idol", on CBS-Univision throughout 2013, with winning song presented in Capital CIty Los Angeles on Union Day, 5 May 2014 (nation-wide street-gang truce scheduled for same day).
To: 1rudeboy
Maybe you "conservatives" can call Ralph Nader. You have something in common.
And the Democrats who voted overwhelmingly in the Senate and House to block Mexican truckers from entering the US. Included among them were California Senator Barbara Boxer, a so-called progressive and friend of immigrants.
