Hugh is trying to limit the discussion to national security vs "economic" illegals... It's easy for him to do, because of course none of those "economic" illegals are settling in his neighborhood. They settle in working class neighborhoods, in older middle class neighborhoods, not in upscale Irvine.
Hugh and his elitist cronies get to feel very charitable while promoting this border anarchy. Other, less fortunate, people get to pay the price. Hugh is quite willing to sacrifice your neighborhood, your local school, your emergency room, your blue collar job, in order to satisfy his political ambitions- all the while denouncing "mean-spirited nativists" who don't want their neighborhoods turned into alien, third world colonies.
Too bad for the nativists, they should have been born rich.
