The Bush administration wants to grant amnesty to hundreds of thousands of Mexican illegal aliens now in the United States, according to the new U.S. ambassador to Mexico.

Tony Garza, sworn in this week at the White House, told reporters in Mexico City that reaching an accord legalizing the status of Mexican immigrants

Everyone forgets someone needs to clean toilets, make beds in hotels and stoop to pick lettuce. White men don't do that kind of work

I was in Iceland last year. The place was a mess. Garbage piled 8 feet deep in the streets, toilets all clogged and filthy, hotel beds never made, no food in the stores, no restaurants operating anywhere, no buildings ever constructed - everyone living in caves. Folks were begging and crying for unlimited 3rd-world immigration, so they could too could have a functioning country.

The only way to get our borders under control, short of building a 2000 mile long Berlin Wall, is to legalize Mexican labor within the United States. The worst thing is to have them here, with no official documentation.

I am in favor of a program that requires the illegals to register, receive permission to stay as long as they are employed, pay taxes, and eventually leave.

>>>"If we don't do something about their status, we will be admitting that our country has a permanent underclass," Mr. Garza said.

This has nothing to do with "a permanent underclass". This has everything to do with foreigners entering the US illegally and further impacting the US infrastructure. If you entered the US illegally and you are caught, you should be deported immediately. Garza's remarks are outrageous. This is no time to advance a guest worker program. Our borders are being flooded with illegal immigrants and we all know, some of those illegals are coming into the US to commit criminal and terrorist acts. Its not to late to institute a moratorium on all legal immigration.

America is fighting an international war on terrorism. This war on terrorism should be strongly advanced here at home, at the US borders. We are creating a huge problem, if we don't better control illegals crossing the borders from Mexico and Canada into the US. We are asking for trouble!

What is it about ILLEGAL that these people don't understand? If we're going to blow off one law, what the h*ll. Let's blow them all off and just do what we want to do because the rule of law means nothing. It seems that in Washington all of our congressmen and our president, with the exception of Tom Tancredo, have chosen to simply ignore the obvious will of the people on this issue, and that is made the more obvious by Tancredo being booted from the White House. I just don't get how a president who is so smart on other issues could be so totally blind on this one.

Now only in my wildest dream will President get rid of 90% of the illegal aliens. Don't fall for that - please don't if you really care about this country.

Now we may be able to do nothing - but it is too important to swallow what they are putting out there.

Yes, let's give amnesty to 15%, then let's be sure we give amnesty to those who have had children born here (what % would that be), then if some have a health problem,we are not monsters (what %?), then that chicken producer can't find enought employees right now (What %), that family has an honor student (what %), do you see - the list goes on and on.

If we can't find and deport 100% of them, what makes you think we are going to achieve the 90%? The laws are there already.

Do you honestly think President Bush, who has been so pro illegal immigration (and he has) is going to voluntarily deport 90% of the subsidized workers for his biggest contributors. No way.

Nothing will be done unless and until we realize anything coming out of Washington is going to be propaganda and not based on what is best for America.

It was just announced this week that Hispanics are the dominant race in Houston Texas. Caucasians are officially a minority now.

(Note: the census does not included illegal aliens. Legal Hispanics amount to about 39% of the population. With the illegals it is expected that hispanics actually number well over 50%)

Does anybody read the details? Why are so many people here against Bush getting rid of 85% of the established illegal aliens and 100% of the illegals with less than ten years here? >>>>>>>>>

Where does it say they're going to get rid of the other
85% ?? NONE of ANY of the amnesties we have so far "granted"
has ever worked. Why does the gov. continue to do the SAME thing (amnesty) that does NOT work?

DEPORT 'em ALL, no more rewards for breaking our laws.
Allow HONEST ones to apply for limited guest worker program
based on what the US needs, NOT what mexico decides to send us.

Bush needs to DEMAND that mexico work towards bettering her own economy, and collecting taxes. Last week papers said
mexico has 30 billion out in uncollected taxes.

I also read that "prominent" citizens say mexico should DEMAND that the U.S. "put an end to it's RACIST immigration
laws". Sounds to me like mexico's rich won't be happy 'til
they get to ship their other 40 million in poverty to the
U.S.

Rich mexicans saying U.S. imm. is RACIST, while poor mexicans are the LARGEST part of our legal & ILLEGAL
immigrant population.........what a load of crapola...

I have no problem with a 2000 mile long wall to prevent intrusion across our international border. Why do you? The situation in Berlin was entirely different. For one, it was a wall built to divide a single nation - not to divide seperate, sovereign nations. Another thing is that it was built by the evil Soviets to further their evil influence and control. And nobody except the Soviet dictators wanted the wall built while most U.S. citizens would like a wall built to prevent border intrusion.

I am in favor of a program that requires the illegals to register, receive permission to stay as long as they are employed, pay taxes, and eventually leave.

Wrong. They are still depressing wage levels here, refusing to assimilate into our culture, overburdening our hospital, school, and community resources, and contributing to overcrowding in our urban areas.

Illegal aliens are just the same as carjackers. Would you favor a program that requires carjackers to register their stolen cars, receive permission to keep the stolen car as long as they are using it to drive to and from their place of employment, and then eventually give the stolen car back? No - I didn't think so. Then why would you favor such a program for other lawbreakers such as illegal aliens/border intruders?

future agenda item?

Yes Yes Yes!

Besides Congress and the White House immeditately, there are likely any number of upcoming Freepable events at which we could represent the majority of Americans who thnk this administration is off its rocker on the issue.
I'm thinking:
next state visit by V. Fox?
next pro-amnesty rally?
next pander session by the President or others to a pro-illegal interest group?

Nobody is "bringing in" workers. >>>>>>>

They just busted some (w/hispanic names) in Florida, that
brought "workers" in through AZ. These "workers" were
held (and worked) until their DEBTS were paid for transportation & housing. Which btw was taking a long time.

Also cops seized the 3 million (plus) property these
hispanics had aquired by ENSLAVING their own countrymen.

All of the things you suggest are, in fact, the laws of the United States right now.

There is even a broad guest worker program for all sorts of workers, which includes the H1B visas as well as the less well known H2A (temporary farm workers) visas and even H2B visas for non-agricultural workers. Want one? You can get them online: Visas for everyone! .

The point is THIS: The laws aren't being enforced!!

Why bother getting a visa if you can just walk in and ignore the laws?

I will say it simply and plainly. If Bush does this he may well be a one-term president, and if so, the winning Democrat will reap the spoils of a brand new welfare class and voting bloc for them to feed and pander.

I am a loyal GOP media consultant. I give up my family and life for 6 months every two years to elect Republican candidates. And I will do so again in 2004.

However I am hearing very disturbing noises from the party activists that they will sit on their hands in '04 if Bush betrays them like this. They didn't battle for a GOP sweep only to have this nonsense.

In addition, union reps who we got on our side this year are saying if Bush does it they will vote straight Democrat to punish him, as they did to Bush I after he raised taxes. This is very alarming to me. We all worked very hard to get out the vote this year, and those two groups came out for us this year.

I do not for the life of me see the logic or urgency in this amnesty move. Our party has proven time and again that when you show you are no different from the Democrats, the people will vote for the Democrat, just as they did with Doug Forrester with his muddling of the abortion issue.

Immigration: an issue that conservative and liberal average-joe Americans agree on. Give us a candidate who is willing to control our borders and we'll give him/her our votes. Number one issue with most Americans now is IMMIGRATION.>>>

WELL SAID.....Tancredo for pres.
