This is second time that Chretien has insulted U.S.

In September, he said to the effect of the words that U.S. is responsible for 9-11

Ditto! This Western Canadian absolutely DETESTS the rodents called the federal Liberals. It baffles the mind that Chretien and his minions continue to do the best they can at offending the United States. It is hard to imagine Canada surviving any sort of retaliation for the anti-Americanism spewing out of the mouths of the morons in Ottawa. Especially when one realizes the only reason Canada exists as an independent nation is because of American benevolence - if we were adjacent to any other superpower in history - we would've been conquered long ago.

I hate to say it but the US probably should put its foot down and penalize my country for the stupidity our leaders are doing. Couple this with an invitation to us in the West to join the US - we're much better off being part of the US than remaining in a Canada where we're under-represented and disenfranchised. Besides, we in the West didn't vote for the Liberals - blame Ontario and Eastern Canada for that catastrophe.

Canada is quicky going down the tubes, and it is too bad.
Canada has allowed uncontrolled immigration, and it will destroy Canada, if Canada does not wake up mighty fast.
Even Muslim kids are playing games telling just how they will take Canada over, and Canada is just a sitting duck, waiting for it all to happen.

Thanks for the comments and the gracious offer.

I can only speak for myself, of course, but I assumed that Canada has the same sort of diversity of political views as does my country, and that, as it does here, the left in your country tends to dominate the organs of public discourse.

I have further assumed that the anti-American tone of much of your political culture springs from a complex dynamic, a decision resulting from many forces that find it useful to consistantly stand in opposition to the US as long as that is a cost-free position. They know we pose no physical threat to Canada, and no commercial or economic threat either, as our commercial behaviour is governed to a very great extent by private capitalists who do not care a fig about your public pro- or anti-Americanism.

I find your CBC program "As It Happens" to be amusing when I occaisionally listen in. It's amazing how many "stories from a Canadian perspective" turn out to consist of a Canadian reporter interviewing some American who is actually accomplishing something worth talking about. Quite a few of the stories in which they interview Canadians consist of criticisms of the US (on the Kyoto protocols or the EU's International Criminal Court or whatever).

I've no doubt that if Canada were ever to feel an existential level of fear from some foreigh power, your countrymen would stand shoulder to shoulder with us in short order. I well remember what Canadians did, and the risks they took, to help our hostages in Tehran in 1978 and 1979.

Stay well and stay warm,

(steely)

Now if the Red Areas on the American Map and the Red areas on the Canadian Map could get together, then that would make one heck of a country wouldn't it?

Thank you for your comments. I thought that most Canadians were sensible people. I'm sorry that your government is led by such liberal socialists. We were very close to being swamped the same way when our President Bush came riding into Washington and showed the country and the world what a leader really is. But we have to be very vigilent and do everything in our power to defeat the socialist forces that will try to take over again and suck our country dry. I hope you conservative Canadians can get organized and defeat them in your country. Or secede and join our country.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
BTW, has Chretien seen his new home yet?
If he buys a little paint, he can have his own name over the front door.

Thanks, we knew we could rely on you guys. We're well aware of what you're going through. Remember we just got out of an eight years battle with Clinton.

I agree that western Canada (as well as central Canada) is fabulous and nothing like Quebec and TO (aka Tarrana ;o) )

We understand, we had Clinton disease for 8 years. Keep your heads up. Isn't Victoria cutting 35,000 government jobs in the next couple of years? That's a good start!

So, do you all pronounce his name char-la-tan or crea-tin? I hear you, keep fighting, and thanks for letting us know the quiet riet (ie the not-media people of the right) is in resistance. Truth and right prevail in the end. Big cities are self-destroying. Just keep populating the "fly over country" which is really the "we have room to breath and are safer from the idiots and thugs country" (good fences make good neighbors and expanse of land makes the best fences) and the liberals in the big cities will kill each other and rob each other, fighting for entitlements from each other, too lazy to work, aborting their offspring (and although it's a greivous crime, in the end it cuts them off from having a future generation to foist their ideaology with, and spares the innocent children they kill from the tortuous living death of liberal leprosy and all it's lies, self-pity and bitterness - which isn't really living anyway is it? - of course it doesn't make abortion ok, but it is a sort of soothing consolation, no? I mean it's one of those situations where God works all things together for Good, despite some men's best efforts to cut off His creation - they kill em, but can't take them out of God's hands) or refusing to create them in their perverse sodomy and thus keeping them in check. Populate and educate with the truth! Just don't let them get their hands on your progeny in their liberal warping schools and uniperversities. We know you are up there and that not all Canadians are canidiots. One team, one fight. Freedom! God Bless Canada and the Freedominion!
