He might not last as long as you think. In any event, this still does nothing to further GOP party-building in the state since Finneran is still a Dem. Whether Gov-elect Romney (who was a victim of Weld's egotism in helping sabotage his '94 run against Kennedy) is up to the behemoth effort of party building we have yet to see (I have my doubts seeing his putting Jane Swift II on his ticket, really dumb, rather than Jim Rappaport, who would've really proven his committment to rebuilding the party).
