The professor is right. Slavery was a hideous evil.

Do you think he was right in calling for the execution of Confederate soldiers and leaders?

Slavery was bad. You, however, should study history a little bit to understand more about the causes. If you agree with this idiot it is very sad.

I think you'd be better off renouncing your US citizenship and going elsewhere. Once you learn the truth, you may not be able to handle it.

What exactly is the argument here? To remove the statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest? Well, I think Forrest, although a capable military man and politician, was a horrible man for founding the Klan (although it was different back then). He also was on the wrong side of history and fought for a lousy cause. But comparable to Hitler? Sheesh. Thats ridiculous.

Its a harmless statue and of the people of TN want him removed they can take it down. Personally, I find that statue of Lenin in Seattle, WA much more offensive.

I'll match that dimbulb professor quote for quote.
From lincoln's (intentional failure to capitalize) first inaugural address:

"I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so."

In a letter to Horace Greeley, lincoln wrote:
"If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it,... and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union."

And finally, this, from the Douglas Debates, when lincoln said:

"I have no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and the black races. There is a physical difference between the two, which in my judgment will probably forever forbid their living together upon the footing of perfect equality, and inasmuch as it becomes a necessity that there must be a difference, I, as well as Judge Douglas, am in favor of the race to which I belong, having the superior position."

Historical revisionism at its ultimate worst. The South fought for the rights of a state's freedom of choice and self-determination. They peacefully seceded until the war was forced on them by Lincoln's subterfuge and a Yankee invasion. They never tried to overthrow the US government, nor did they consider themselves to be a part of the United States after 1861 ... they were the Confederate States! This professor is so full of sh*t that its a wonder he even holds a teaching certificate. He ought to stick to something he might know about, like basket weaving or pro-creation among cows.

In case you didn't know ... secession means to break away and form one's own government. South were termed "rebels" because in the eyes of the "status quo" damnYankee politicians and Lincoln sycophants they had the nerve to stand up against the Federal Government's taxes and Yankee intimidation tactics.
