He really doesn't say he's against invading Iraq. He doesn't really say much of anything in that quote, which very well might not be accurate.

He could have just said no. Even Babs knows she loathes Bush alongside oh, Jessica Lange.
To: frmrda
Does he think we weren't attacked on Sept 11, 2001?

He could have just said no. That would assume he was smart. I'll cut him a break on his patriotism, not his brains.
I really don't know that I'd trust the London Observer.

Why are they worried about him exposing his a$$ in his new movie when he exposes himself as an a$$h*le on a regular basis?
To: FITZ
From the article its difficult to say where Clooney thinks he lives. On Manhattan?? Or in the U.K? The rest of it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Did I miss something or did 3,000 people die last year because of possible Iraqi/Al Qaeda terrorist action? (that Dan Burton's committee in the house still has found out who all was involved)

Well, he's certainly changed his attitude since "Three Kings". I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked!

I'm really not sure what you are responding to. We knew what "ties" Iraq has for years, and we helped arm them. Its just now that attacking them is popular. Why is that?
Clooney made a well reasoned statement for a hollywood type. You guys are blowing this way out of proportion.
To: FreeTally
It was a lot clearer then. We were attacked. I assume he means by another country in 1941, as opposed to islamic terrorists from here and there. I'd have to say he is correct. It was much clearer then. Pearl Harbor was an attack on soldiers and ships, September 11 was an attack on innocent men, women and children. We have every right to be more angry and more vicious in our response. It is not our fault we fear Saddam Hussein.

Interesting quote from another Clooney interview, at www.clooneyworld.de ("The Unofficial George Clooney Fan Site"):
"A: I remember reading Mem Kampf, thinking it was an amazing book. It's shocking. It makes you think that [English Prime Minister] Neville Chamberlain is the stupidest man who ever lived. Did he read Mein Kampf, which Hitler wrote 14 years earlier? Hitler told him exactly what he was going to do."

Reminds me of Monty Python logic: Witches are made of wood, wood floats, so does a duck, so if the woman weighs the same as a duck, she's a witch!

To: FreeTally
My point is you don't know that Iraq was not involved in the September 11 atack.
Dan Burton has had a House committee looking at this for some time now..

Ah, your selective memory is fascinating.
We sold them conventional weapons - you know, tanks, rockets, etc.
It was not the US, but France and Russia that gave them the tools to go nuclear and biological - in other words to develop weapons of mass destruction.
We would not be contemplating a war in Iraq if they were only in possession of the conventional weapons we sold them.
The typical leftist cant, which you have stooped to employing here is: "We gave them weapons of mass destruction and now we're telling them they can't have them!" Which is a complete and total crock.
The best that can be said for some of the stupider leftist fellow travelers is that they don't know the facts.
But I know you do, and that's pretty sinister.

My husband makes gobbling sounds whenever the commercial comes on. No coincident that it's being released right before Thanksgiving. George's turkey to the masses.
