LOL! I go to great lengths to make sure it smells clean, plus not all the kitties stay inside. I've been inside houses that there was only one cat and they reeked. gack! I've made a point no one would leave here thinking the same thing. :-D

Sure ya don't wanna cat? I've got just about every size, shape, and color there is. LOL!! Naaah, I could never part with my babies. Aggravating as they can be at times,(ok, all the time) I love every one of 'em. I think I'll go ahaed and keep 'em.

Pleased to meet you, BTW. Welcome to the Canteen! You'll find that there are some wonderful folks here who all share a common bond...love and support for our troops and veterans. I've been on a brief sabbatical but will be back in force soon.

Have to share something with you..........
I have one cat, Morticha (Misstress of Mischief, aka Me-Me) & one dog, Lassie (a doxy-terrier mix mutt). Both of them are the same size & age (14+). I might add that they are playmates! ( Who says dogs & cats don't mix?)

Every night, when I fix their evening meal, I add in a spoon or two of canned food. Whenever I open a can of dog food with the electric can opener, Me-Me comes running & sits under my feet. Her food comes in a "pop-top" can, so when I pop it, I normally let her smell the lid. I've only been doing this for 5-6 weeks now. A can of food last about 5 days.

Tonight, I forgot to let her smell the lid. I felt a soft touch on my leg..........I ignored it. I felt another, a little stronger pat on my leg...........I again ignored it. I finally received a good "smack" on my leg from her. I let her smell the lid, and ALL was well!.
She walked over to the little rug where there food bowls are placed & waited patiently for her bowl.

Funny thing, we bought her several cat toys, but she would rather play with a twist-tie or a piece of string!

Thanks. I've enjoyed the Canteen and you'll be seeing me pretty regurarly. I have one cat that is 20 years old (I had another one that was born at the same time but she died a few years ago :( ). I (and my wife) love our baby more than anyone can imagine, so I know what you mean. I also know what you mean when you just walk into some peoples' house and even with one or two cats, *yech*. Glad to hear you go the extra yard for your brood!

Take care
