Stephanopoulos not up to snuff - Weaknesses keep 'This Week' adrift

Who would want to start this week with George Stephanopoulos?

Certainly, the latest version of the ABC Sunday morning show This Week can't be aimed at news junkies, who most likely see Stephanopoulos' ascension as the ultimate triumph of celebrity flash over journalistic fire. They can't consider it good news that a show long identified with broadcast icon David Brinkley, and briefly led by the respected if ill-cast Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts, is now in the hands of a relative newcomer who is chiefly famous for being disloyal to the president who made him famous.

He should have spent more time on bent willie's knee instead of on his knees in front of bent willie.

ABC does not have a "Heavy Hitter" who is qualified to fill the shoes of David Brinkley. Certainly Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts were light weights compared to Brinkley. However, Donaldson and Roberts were much better, in their simple 'media based way,' than the Clintonite policy-wonk turned ultra-biased 'televison journalist,' George Stephanopoulos.

Georgie is little more than a political assassin. That ABC has chosen to give him so much face time is proof of their ulterior motives. And it is obvious that ABC-Disney is out to change government by means of a gay agenda media coup .... Am I mistaken, or does Georgie fit the bill a little too well?

I truly hope that both women suing Georgie and Hitlery win their claims. Claims based on a systematic program of high office defamation that was unheard of before a rapist-traitor disgraced the high office of President. Georgie can pay 50% of his earnings to his female victims of media-rape for the next ten years. Serves him right.

I cannot argue with you there, GOPJ. You are absolutely right. I think they should reverse the liberal conservative ratio for awhile and see what happens.

I get so tired of the politicalization of the word "hate."

I know. It's used by the left to stop debate so their ideas aren't exposed for what they are.

I never even hated Clinton. I despised him in the sense of not having respect for him or wishing to be associated with him, but I never wanted to hurt him. (Seeking justice for those whom he hurt is not the same as wanted to hurt him, even if justice means him being worse off when all is said and done.)

A few weeks back I tried to find an email address or other contact for George Will to explain why I would no longer view the show. I don't give a hoot about Step~on~all~of~us, so I wouldn't have ever bothered to try to convince him of my disgust over the evolution of the show, but I would have liked to tell Mr. Will that ABC (via 'lil Georgie) has marginalized Mr. Will's participation in the show to the point where it is unwatchable (even on fast forward).
Fortunately, George Will is going to be around long after "This Week" is only a pitiful memory.

I have never seen the program. I don't watch the networks. I don't wish him well.

ABC would do well to try and hire away Brit Hume or Tony Snow from Fox. That would make their ratings shoot through the roof.

The show used to be fairly watchable under Donaldson-Roberts but now it's as boring as FTN.

Naturally, the USA Today author has old Bob wrong. He likes him because he always asks liberal questions. The problem is, though, is that Bob is a senile old fart who seems like he's hung-over all the time.

Gloria Borger needs to go home and finish coloring her Bill Clinton child's biography. Now only Meet the Depressed and Fox News Sunday are any good.

Make George Will the Host and the ratings will soar.

Here's a vote for that.

However, he does such a great logical job on ripping up the Lib garbage, I enjoy the wait for his imput.

EVERY Clintonoid (including Clinton & Crusty) is a failure.

It is only the lying, brainwashing media that says any different.

Either george.will@abc.com or george.f.will@abc.com.
