Moran's Homepage
This landmark location, built in 1897, was formally an inn and later became St. George's Chapel during the Depression in 1929. St. George's Chapel catered to the local merchants and residents, which were mostly of Syrian Catholic descent. This area came to be known as "Little Syria." In 1979 the church retired, and the Moran family acquired and converted the site and began operating on December 26, 1986.
You can find the current ping list on my home page and I will update it with all who show interest.
Please freepmail me with any ideas or suggestions so this can be a wonderful gathering. I have been emailing back and forth with Firebrand planning the party and we are going to have a very nice turnout.

Then you really should come to the party. It will be fun, I haven't been to a dull freeper gathering yet!
To: Sonny M
You won't believe how much fun it will be; imagine being in a room with ONLY people who think like you do (well, most of them anyway.....LOL)!!!

On Election Night, I went down to the bar where the NC Freepers were meeting about 7:30, "just for a while," because I wanted to get back home to my computer and you guys.
I got home about midnight! And I didn't miss my computer as much as I thought I would! Shameless!

Oh goodness, it had to be more fun watching the returns with freepers "in the flesh". Bet it was a blast.
I don't think we've had a party here since last February, so we're DUE. LOL

Oh, I will hold the bail money. ;)
If we get 70 of us in one room, you never know. There COULD be trouble. Haha.

And I didn't miss my computer as much as I thought I would!I think we both were in disbelief that we weren't going through severe withdrawals without our computers. Guess being with a FEW Freepers in person equals to being with hundreds on the computer. As soon as I got home, though, I headed straight for the keyboard!!
The best of both worlds would be to have a laptop at the bar with us!

The best of both worlds would be to have a laptop at the bar with us! That's been done already, as well as FReepers hosting threads live from FReeper events (i.e. a FReeper with a laptop at the House Managers' Dinner in DC posting details as they were happening).

I think you should consider coming. It is amazing to me how well everyone gets along when they just met! Also there is no flaming :), for some reason that gets put aside at gatherings of freepers!
Also, after you meet several freepers in person it improves your dialogue on the forum with them. I guess having a face behind the freepname is an asset!

What is the possibility of accepting last minute RSVP's?
A few factors will determine if I can make it, but I won't really know until much later in the month of Dec.

There has to be a cutoff, because of the fire laws, but I don't know what it is for that particular room. We could find out. Seventy was the minimum for the private room. When we find out the maximum, we might have to say no more after that number, but then some people don't show and some bring others. We'll be as loosey-goosey as possible, I guess.

Moran's homepage says, "We cater intimate gatherings for as few as 20 persons, and we also cater corporate cocktail parties for up to 250 persons."

Thanks for the NJ ping.
I'll be there.
I'll probably be with my wife, and maybe a brother or two or three.
