I was listening to Rush Limbaugh on this today.

Paraphrasing, He said this was slipped into the Homeland Security Bill by Dashule (I think it was) because he knew it would keep the bill stalled.

If it should pass with this in there our Health Care is going to go through the roof.

A woman radiologist from Mississippi called in and said because of the lawsuit on the Tobacco Companys they can't recruit doctors to come to their state because they know Mississippi lawyers are sue crazy.

Interesting tidbit: She said it was Trent Lotts, brother-in-law was the lawyer who sued the Tobacco Companys.

After posting this I then read the postings above it.

I see I got it somewhat mixed up. It appears the Administration is trying to keep a cap on the lawsuits and Dashule is holding up the HomeLand Bill because the Demo's want to be able to sue for all they can.

Listening to Rush in the car it's hard to keep it all straight. ;-)

Trent Lott's half-brother, Scruggs, is a very wealthy and famous personal injury lawyer. Mississippi is a perfect forum for class-actions lawsuits because of something called "joinder" (sp?) I may have that word tangled up, but it sounds like that.

How it works...you want to sue a major pharm company in Miss? Just sue the neighborhood drug store (local) and then you can drag in the pharm company. Sure does discourage those who want to open a local pharmacy. Later, the pharmacy is dropped after getting beat up in court for awhile, in order to go after the bigger fish.

Miss, Nevada, West VA, Penn--all are losing doctors.

Greta van Whatsis is married to someone who made a killing in some class action...might have been tobacco.
