N Korea admits nuclear arsenal

North Korea has said for the first time that it has nuclear weapons.
A commentary broadcast on state radio said North Korea had "developed powerful military counter-measures, including nuclear weapons" to cope with what it called mounting nuclear threats from the United States.
Last month, Washington announced that North Korea had admitted to having a programme for producing highly enriched uranium - a key ingredient in nuclear weapons.
But this is the first time the Communist state has made such an acknowledgement. A foreign ministry statement in October said only that the country was "entitled" to have nuclear weapons.
President George Bush has repeatedly called on Pyongyang to eliminate its nuclear programme, saying it is the only way the country can have a viable future.
Earlier this week, the US, South Korea, the European Union and Japan agreed to halt fuel aid to North Korea until Pyongyang moves to dismantle the programme.

Is anyone really suprised? Probably only the same people who will be suprised to find out Iran has (or will shortly) have nukes too... and then Saudi Arabia, Iraq (unless we attack now), Egypt, Syria, Al Quida, Hizballah, Islamic Jihad, etc.. etc..

Special thanks go to Bill Clinton, Madeline Albright, Sandy Berger, and Nobel Prize winner Jimmah Carter.

They got them and they hate the Japs almost as much as the Chinee.
They hate our guts and never surrendered. They can fight like dogs.
With nukes, they can sustain their miserable existance and threaten Japan.
N. Korea and China wants us out of the Pacific. Make no mistake about it.
Taiwan and Japan are plums to be picked!

It is time we recognize N. Korea as the enemy that it is and even Saddam Hussein (as of this moment, to the best of our knowledge) is not. And time we treat it accordingly.
As Thatcher once said to another Bush: "This is no time to go wobbly, George."

If they had any gratitude at all, they'd name their program, or at least their bombs, after Jimmy Carter. How does this sound? The Jimmy Carter Nobel Peanut...I mean Peace Prize Bombs! But, No! Damn ingrates!
To: solmar_israel
I thought Jimmy Carter and Clinton et al. stated that this would never happen. They taxed us Billions to assure that this would never happen and CNN had special after Special program praising their efforts.
In other news... this will be found, if at all, on page 45 of section F in the LA Times.

You're wrong They named their ballistic missles after him: they're called "No-dongs."
NaW.
(It's rumored that the ones to be named after Clinton will be called "Bent-dongs." ...)

Jimmy (The Rabbit) Carter says he does not believe that NK has any nuclear capability, so there.

It's time to allow the Japs to rearm and let nature take its' course. Our concern should be containment of chicom. They are establishing themselves in our hemisphere. What a legacy for post WW2 American foreign policy, specifically the democrats. there will be a price to pay for this for us all...

Well at least they've shown a little gratitude.
To: Semper Paratus
If they have nuclear weapons, these weapons will be another legacy left by the C&C boys, Clintoon and Carter!

I'm wondering...could North Korea send nukes over the pole and hit Norway?
To: solmar_israel
...Man! That'd be a kick in the leg!
