It's about time for Tom Daschle to stick a cork in it.
If he wants to spout his high-tax, pro-abortion, socialized-health-care, pro-union, anti-tort-reform agenda, that's fine. But when it comes to the war on terrorism, could he just shut his pie-hole? Either do something to help those who are trying to do something about it or get out of their way.
On the same day Nancy Pelosi was elected Democrat leader of the House of Representatives and bragging how House Democrats had stood side-by-side with the President on the war on terror, Daschle was questioning the President's efforts and results.
Daschle is so narrow-minded that he thinks if we don't have Osama bin Laden's head on a spear, then we can't be making progress. Never mind all the other key high-ranking al Qaeda and Taliban leaders who have been captured and killed. Never mind that bin Laden is constantly on the run, that his financial network is in disarray and that the entire organization is amok. The glass is never half full with Daschle, it's always broken. And it's never his fault.
It's like a football team's defense dominating the other team, but then a coach yells at the defense because they haven't sacked the quarterback.
What has Daschle done since Sept. 11, 2001, to assist the President? What did he do before Sept. 11, 2001, with President Clinton to prevent the attacks? Daschle's been in D.C. since 1978. What has he ever proposed to fight terrorism? More importantly, what would he be doing differently now? He offers no alternatives. No suggestions. No ideas. I don't think we're getting our $160,000 worth out of Mr. Daschle.
He criticizes President Bush more than he criticizes Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Bin Laden and Hussein would like nothing better than to see the United States wiped off the face of the earth. Daschle is doing little to prevent them (and that's being generous); he may actually be encouraging them by spouting their propaganda and stirring up resentment toward President Bush. Maybe, if bin Laden and Hussein were Republicans, Daschle would be more inclined to defeat them.
At this point, I don't care what other policies or positions Daschle pursues and proclaims, but could he at least try to be helpful in protecting my three children from terrorist attack. That's the most important thing to me right now.
Whether he's majority leader or minority leader, the common word there is "leader." Instead of just leading Democrats, could he try leading all Americans? If Daschle doesn't want to be one of our leaders, could he at least shut up?
Daschle staked out his area of the government employee's nuclear bunker, you know the one where Bush keeps his "shadow government", ahead of the next attack. The President won't have to worry about where Daschle is, or if he is safe. That will be a big load off of Bush's mind.
It's sickening on both sides. Equally so, in fact.
No mercy.

Really? I read these boards everyday and don't see many Freepers ripping Bush on the War on terrorism everyday.
At least not like Daschle.
I do see some Freepers ripping Bush for not starting a Holy War against all Muslims...but I consider them to a deluded minority.
Sorry little fart...

Correction: We're not getting $1.60 worth out of Mr. Daschle.
Cryptic??
Please actually say something.
