Statement Warns of More Attacks (Stop support for Israel, Russia, and convert to Islam or else)

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - A statement attributed to al-Qaida threatened more attacks in New York and Washington unless America stops supporting Israel and converts to Islam, an Arab TV reporter who received the unsigned document said Saturday.

Yosri Fouda, correspondent for the satellite station Al-Jazeera, told The Associated Press he received the six-page document on Wednesday. That was a day after the TV station broadcast an audiotape purportedly made by Osama bin Laden (news - web sites).

Fouda, who is known for good contacts within al-Qaida, would only say that the statement came from his sources with the group. But he insisted he was certain it came from the terrorist movement's leadership.

Fouda, speaking by telephone from London, said the statement called on Americans to stop supporting Israel and other governments that "oppress" Muslims or face more attacks. The statement also called on Americans to convert to Islam, he said.

Fouda quoted the statement as saying: "Stop your support for Israel against the Palestinians, for Russians against the Chechens ... for corrupt leaders in our countries ... (and) leave us alone or expect us in Washington and New York."

He added the statement demanded U.S. troops leave the Arabian Peninsula, and justified the killings of American civilians because they pay taxes that finance military operations.

There was no immediate reaction from Washington. No officials were available for comment at the Pentagon (news - web sites) or the National Security Council Saturday afternoon. A report on the statement as described by Fouda was carried in The Sunday Times of London.

Fouda is a prominent Arab television journalist who has broken several important stories about al-Qaida. In September, Al-Jazeera broadcast Fouda's interviews with two top al-Qaida operatives hiding in Pakistan, Ramzi Binalshibh and Khaled Sheik Mohammed.

Binalshibh was arrested in Karachi, Pakistan, shortly after the broadcast and was transferred to U.S. custody.

Fouda said the statement also referred to the crisis between the United States and Iraq as one more reason to attack Americans.

"You are placing Muslims under siege in Iraq, where children die every day. Oh, how weird that you don't care for 1.5 million Iraqi children who died under siege, but when 3,000 of your compatriots died, the whole world was shaken," Fouda quoted the statement as saying.

Meanwhile, a militant Islamic Web site that carries news about al-Qaida has dismissed as lies a report that a senior member of the terror group is in U.S. custody.

U.S. officials in Washington said Friday that one of the leaders of al-Qaida had been detained in a foreign country and handed over to U.S. authorities.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, declined to identify the detainee, but said he was not al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, his chief depity, his son or the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The site scoffed at the U.S. officials' refusal to name the detainee. "Maybe they fear to announce a certain name, and al-Qaida would issue a denial so their (the U.S.) situation would become worse," it said.

No $hit - I don't think that they are smart enough NOT to try another major attack. That will mean the end of them (Arabs).

No it won't. Hell, even if they deployed nukes in ten of our major cities, Bush would still do a photo-op the next day with the local hate-spewing clerics. We're in a new age--the age of not defending ourselves.

Talk is cheap; bring it on, cowards. Not with innocent civilians, but against our military in the field.

They can't and won't do that, they are cowards all of them. They would not be able to go head to head with most of our cities police forces. I'm pretty confident that most suburban/urban areas have more fire power, and are better trained in warfare than Al-Qaeda.

Islam is the enemy we are at war with!

Not yet. So far, Islam is at war with us. We are only at war with a few gang members of a cult, supplied, aided, and comforted by several Islamofascist nation states farming their murderous opiate of the masses.

They keep talking about the Crusades, a period the Christian lands have forgotten...they don't understand what will happen to them if the Crusader mentality is returned...but this will be on a much larger scale, as only modern technology can provide.

A Couple of My Favorite Quotes These Days:

"If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed. If you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not so costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no chance of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."
Winston Churchill

AND

"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." --John Stuart Mill

Which, again, points to the (not so?) obvious question of "Why are all the 'so-called' patriotic, 'moderate' muslims that claim distance from these islamonuts, not joining the ranks of 'interpretors' by the thousands?"

I'm not sure I would trust them to translate honestly and accurately...

You have great foresight. I'm curious, what made you say this 10 years ago? I never gave much thought to Islam myself until 9/11, in fact 10 years ago I didn't even know the word "Islam". I always called those people Mohammedens. I knew Salman Rushdie was in deep doo-doo when I read the review of "The Satanic Verses" in the NY Times Book Review and saw he had a character named Mahound, but I just "knew" it, didn't even really know why.

I don't know about the poster you were responding to, but for myself, I started listening whenever Steven Emerson was on tv talking about terrorism and it had to be about '93 or '94. He was on CNN now and then in those days.

I couldn't understand why no one I knew or heard about was worried about this, and why no one I heard about in Congress seemed to be talking about this. Because I've been worried about this since I first heard Emerson.

"I couldn't understand why no one I knew or heard about was worried about this"

What I quickly realized after 9/11 was that we'd been under direct attack by these people for the entire Clinton presidency.

I NEVER understood why the attack on the Cole was not treated as what it was, and act of War. These people are bullies and understand only one thing FORCE.

I blame Bill, of course, but I blame our side too. We should have been holding him accountable for his failures as commander in chief, but we too were distracted in the go-go 90's.

I hope we have learned from our mistakes, and I hope we will prevail upon our elected leaders to make the immigration reforms without which homeland security is just a bad joke.

Yes, I agree so much with this. And BJ is completely negligent, maybe even intentionally so, but so is every member of congress who was in office during the 90s. I've been so upset for so long about the irresponsibility and ostrich-like behavior of our elected officials. Maybe now that enough of the country is waking up, we can hold some of their toes to the fire.

But it seems not enough are serious yet about our immigration problems. I suppose we have to wait till we lose 3 million instead of "only" 3 thousand, before our govt and more of the people are fully awake.

One odd thing about Islaminazi's - they believe that if they lose a leg during their life, that they will not have a leg in the afterlife. That's why they cut off the hands of theives. And that's why we need to give them a future that will have an impact on their behavior.

I like your thinking!

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any links to that? I haven't heard anything about it.

I worry about what North Korea may do to Japan, as well, now that they have nukes.

Not a chance. This ain't the Balkans, fella. This is about survival of our civilizations and our mutual faiths.

Even in its woefully undersupplied state, the Red Army is more than a match for the Islamic Fascists.

See, the bin Ladenists believe that since they bested you in Afghanistan, they would do the same in the Rodina.

What they don't recall is what happened to the last army that tried to do that.

Fully 75% of the Deutsches Wehrmacht, man-for-man the finest and best led fighting force of the Second World War and one of the finest since the above-mentioned Marian Legions, were buried in the Russian steppe, in the Pripet Marshes, in the warrens of Stalingrad, and finally, before their own capitol of Berlin. These Islamists have no idea what they are toying with, nor do they understand what happens to them when Western Christendom and the Eastern Orthodox faiths unite for common survival.

They simply have no idea. When one lives in a fantasy world of jihadist bullsh*t, where the rest of the world is rotten fruit ready to fall from the tree, then one believes one's own propaganda.

Hitler made the same mistake, as did the Japanese. The rest is history.

Be Seeing You,

Chris
