Saddam would use respect for his citizens' private property as an excuse? Like we are supposed to believe that?
This is a man who lets his sons torture Iraqi citizens for fun.

You know, I've been wondering. Why is there no bounty on Saddam's head...at least as much as the going rate for Binny? Seems a reasonable thing....

Saddam was completing his concealment strategy as French and Russian diplomats wrangled with their American and British counterparts at the UN in New York over the Security Council resolution backing the return of the weapons inspectors. Well, DUH! Now he's only had what? at worst 2-3 months and at best 6 months to a year to work on hiding them. The UN wheels grind exccedingly slow and extremely coarse.
They aren't on the side of democracy or the common man. They're on the side of the most vituperative despots the world has ever produced.

Saddam Hussein is hiding chemical and biological weapons supplies in mosques and hospitals No doubt about it. He'd be terminally moronic not to do so, and Saddam is certainly not that. Game playing is his strength, and we're playing to that strength by choosing the resolution/inspections route.

The aircraft are fitted with a device that detects underground voids - such as bunkers and tunnels - through variations in the earth's gravitational field I guess this mean that Saddem can run but he can't hide

There is no question in my mind that Saddam will put every woman and child in Iraq into those mosques, right along with the contraband. We've already been treated to a preview of this in Jerusalem. Saddam will make sure his staunch allies, aka the media, broadcast this fact to the world.

Strike Iraq and Saddam while the U.N. inspectors are there. Talk about a November surprise. When at war, act like it.

The UN Security Council will be allowed a short time to debate.... Yes, up to 5 minutes will be fine.
OK, time's up. Put down your pencils and turn in your papers.

I suggest we do it immediately, and damn the UN.Why not. The Brits have done it before. .
In July 1956, when Egypt's President Gamal Abdel Nasser announced the nationalization of the canal, the Western powers tried in vain to reach an agreement with Egypt on a new form of international control by the 18 nations that regularly used the Canal.
Then in October, against a background of in creasing border clashes, Israel accused Egypt of planning an attack against her and sent the Israeli army across the Sinai Peninsula toward Suez.
Viewing this development as a threat to shipping on the Canal, the British and French landed troops in the Canal zone. The United States opposed this action of its NATO allies as a violation of the principle of self-determination. The American delegation at the United Nations voted in favor of a General Assembly resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire and withdrawal of the invading troops. Great Britain, France, and Israel accepted these terms. In March 1957, under the supervision of a U.N. police force, the Suez Canal was cleared of wreckage and opened to shipping. - Tom

a device that detects underground voids through variations in the earth's gravitational field I can't believe this part. If such a device exists Hillary is a sitting duck.

Lots of stuff seems to get hidden in mosques.

Suggest duct-taping Kofi Annan to the Mother of All Thermobaric Enemas for Immediate Delivery.
Saddam Hussein mosque die.
With apologies to President Reagan--
Let us turn Iraq into a thousand points of blinding light.
Bomb, but verify.
To: MadIvan
Sure he does. The politically correct Western inspectors, graduates of re-education camps all, wouldn't dare, would they? The ACLU might protest! Saddam's no fool, we are!
To: aristeides
I am beginning to wonder what is being hidden in mosques in the United States.
