Fifty Women Pose Nude to Protest War
AP | 11/16/02

POINT REYES STATION, Calif., Nov 16, 2002 (AP Online via COMTEX) -- Some women are baring it all to protest the possibility of war in Iraq.

Fifty women in California took off all their clothes earlier this week and spelled out the word "peace" on a baseball field just north of San Francisco.

Seventy-two-year-old artist Donna Sheehan said she organized the protest to convey the desperation that she and other women feel about going to war.

She called her friends, and they called their friends - and soon they were ready to pose for a local photographer.

The women aren't exactly sure what to do with the picture.

They've all signed documents allowing their images to be sold, with proceeds going to the peace movement.

You give men too much credit, but God bless you for saying it anyway. :)

I've thought about it long and hard...and I've come to the realization that there isn't enough credit in the universe to give men all they deserve. They are extraordinary creatures and their amazing combination of generosity, brilliance and courage blow me away everyday.

And sometimes you get to see Mel Gibson, Liam Neeson or Richard Gere's butt. Heaven.

You liked that album cover where John Lennon and Yoko Ono appeared naked then?

Am I the only person here who wonders what would happen to a group of women who staged a similiar protest in Iraq?

And what they can do with the picture--I don't know, if it's the usual peace type protesters in the shot(hair and all), I doubt they'll get many requests for it;-)
