Democrats say "NO" after vote. (the rats!)

The majority 10 democrats on the Senate Judiciary committee on Thursday engaged in a voting maneuver so extraordinary that some of the senators themselves were unsure what happened.

First, they allowed one of President Bush's conservative judicial nominees to be approved by a voice vote.

Then, one by one, all the Democrats present asked that they be recorded as having voted against the nominee, District Court Judge Dennis Shedd.

In effect the Democrats arranged it so they are now recorded as voting against Shedd after failing to make any effort to block his confirmation. Many Senate veteran staff aides and lobbyists said they could not recall a similar event in Washington.

The committee sent the U.S. Appeals court Nominations of Shedd and University of Utah professor Michael McConnell to the full Senate after having delayed the two men before the midterm elections.

It means nothing. The voice vote was the official committe vote.

I agree that it means nothing in the sense that it doesn't change outcomes, however, what it does say is the extraordinary lengths to which they will go to gain even the smallest partisan benefit. It's indicative of both their desperation and the lengths to which they will go to get their way.

Were I a Republican leader, I would arrange to corner the market on bag catheters so that these clowns would have to use a bucket when it comes time to filibuster, because that's what we're in for.

Oh, don't worry about it.
This was just their childish "Neener, neener, neener!" move.

The elections have shown their position to be severely compromised.
This is their pitiful "revenge". Yawn.

Probably trying to preserve their voting record score for the rankings that Lib organizations put together each year.

The Democrats win more than their share because they take politics more seriously than the Republicans do.

RATs are lying, treasonous assholes. I used to believe that only about their leadership. I am now convinced that grassroots RATs are just as bad. How can you belong to a party led by lying, treasonous assholes and not be a lying treasonous asshole yourself?
