While we could use this as the trigger , my guess is that we won't. It would be more controversial than the administration would like. They will wait for something related to WMD.

Okay, what gets it this time?
1. Air base?
2. Headquarters?
3. SAM sites?
4. Republican Guard Division?
5. Radar station?
Or a combination?

I have to believe you are correct, the Bezerlkey peace protest types are too stupid to figure out things like 'honoring the precise terms of the inspections' so we will have to go through the motions..

U.S., British planes bomb Iraqi radar after Iraq fires, Pentagon says -AP Breaking NewsMATT KELLEY, Associated Press Writer (11-15) 14:23 PST WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. and British warplanes bombed a radar site in southern Iraq Friday after Iraq fired at warplanes patrolling a no-fly zone, the Pentagon said. It was the first coalition strike on Iraq sinc...

Bret Baher(sp), Fox's Pentagon bureau chief, also reported that the radar site was destroyed.

Bush is working on a list of breaches. But however wo do it, eventually we'll have to break with Europeans. It is absurb to contract out America'a national security to a diplomat named Blix, and I trust that President Bush will not do that.

This is news? I think regardless of the Security Council Resolution, the no-fly zone cat and mouse game won't change. I don't think Bush will use this as a "new" provocation.

This ought to do it. Probably won't, though.

Don't forget, the President was a pilot, and knows that a SAM trying to fly up your exhaust pipe isn't a small thing.

we will have to go through the motionsI think the fastest way to find out what will happen is for the inspectors to go immediately to each and every presidential bunker/palace site that were off-limits last inspection. Barge right in and start at the top. If Saddam says no, or delays at all, there's the breach. You just know he's got something under all those palaces.

If I recall correctly the policy changed and now we atacke additional Iraqi sites when they do this.

I really don't believe we are going to rely on the inspectors for much of anything in this go around. My intuition is that Bush already has a good list of sites to take out and will begin as soon as the 30 day deadline is up.
If anything the inpectors might end up being hostages.
To: Libertarian4Bush
All 57 Presidential Palace sites should be nuked immediately.
Let's stop pussyfooting around with this blighter - he needs his head caved in.

You are right. We will eventually break with the Europeans and we won't be counting on Blix to make our case for us. But we will probably wait for something we can present to the American people and the world - with a few pics from orbit and other show and tell items to make our case. [Something like the way the Kennedy administration showed the missiles in Cuba after they and the USSR swore that they were not there.]

FNC reports that Iraq air defenses fire on coalition aircraft at 2:50 EST So does this constitute grounds for war as a material breach in their agreement for the UN ??
To: Rokke
This is a clear breach...
As pointed out in the following AP story (
http://straitstimes.asia1.com.sg/world/story/0,4386,155176,00.html):
Administration officials have said the resolution also prohibits Iraq from firing on US and British planes patrolling no-fly zones over northern and southern Iraq.
Mr Powell said Iraq's reactions to enforcement of no-fly zones would be looked at 'with all seriousness if they continue to do that' and it must understand the threat of military action was real.

Yes we can bet those infra-red nite peek-a-boos have a treasure of photos of the saddamites hiding everything illeagle. This will be like a treasure hunt when we get into inspections.
