"Great record, American Beauty."

Yep...there isn't a song on it that I can't listen to over and over again.

"Where do you find the time? I'm not big on sleep, but ya gotta sometime!"

With the Skins outta the playoff hunt and the HOOS not playing football again until late-December, I have nothing I wanna watch on TeeVee until college basketball kicks into high gear, so once I get the kids and wife down to bed, FReepin's high on my list of priorities...LOL!! As for sleep, ever since UVA Architecture school--where all-nighters were sorta par for the course--I usually don't need more than 4-6 hours a night. Eventually, it catches up to you, but one 8-hour night and it's like I never missed a wink of sleep.

FReegards...MUD

BTW...don't know if yer a Hannity and Colmes fan, but last night I watched them interview KISS's Ace Freeley and Gene Simmons...LOL!! Sean was dissin' Gene about bird-doggin' chicks, but I thought it sounded sorta ChurchLady-ish since Simmons said he's never been married and makes no promises to the babe of the evening. And Ace looks like he's had a face lift...they ain't gettin' any younger, maybe that's why they continue to wear the make-up!!

I caught the 2am rebroadcast of H&C. Late rehearsal for a cancer benefit we are doing Thurs. At least Simmons is up front with his women. It's not as though they don't have a choice. He ain't Mike Tyson.

You and I are the same way with sleep. Gettin' home at 4 or 5am you learn not to need it. One good night makes up.

I have the cable also. It beats the hell out of dial-up!LOL

"Study: GOP to Dominate for Generation!!"

"The mid-term elections of 2002 reflect a sea change in American electoral politics in which the Republican Party will dominate for a generation, says a prominent pollster. Republicans' precedent-setting victories Nov. 5 were "much more than President Bush getting out the vote in close Senate races," says an analytical introduction to "The GOP Generation," on the website of its author, pollster Scott Rasmussen.

[snip]

"A couple of factors – national security and the war on terror – no doubt favored Bush and Republicans generally during the midterm elections. But Rasmussen told WorldNetDaily that other "institutional" changes were taking place that could lead the Grand Old Party into majority status for years to come, such as shifts in demographics and workplace habits. And, data indicate, the president is playing excellent politics. For example, Democrats sought to capitalize on a sagging U.S. economy by blaming Bush and Republicans for a series of corporate scandals that allegedly sapped investor and consumer confidence. But Bush and the GOP instead were able to successfully counter those charges by tying victorious prosecution of the war on terror as one way to rebuild investor and consumer confidence. Since Republicans have traditionally fared better in matters of national security, the gambit worked. "Quite frankly, most Americans are closer to Bush's view, so it's been a unifying factor for Republicans," Rasmussen said. "One of the surprises in the data … was that the economy and war issues were intertwined, almost as a single issue. As international tensions rose, the economy suffered, so one of the best economic policies for the president to follow was to focus on national security problems."

"The clouds of election contests are behind us and a new Republican majority in both Houses of Congress will gather in January. It's time to reaffirm some basic Republican principles and move ahead with legislative implementation."

Imagine unbridled Capitalism, regulation on the wane;

"This Blessed Ground!!"
(To be sung to Bruce Springsteen's "My Hometown")

I was six years old, American flag in my hand...
Dockside, watched that ship return my Pa from Viet Nam.
Ma cried, then laughed, 'cuz he'd made it through it...
We cheered as Dad's feet touched ground...
He tousled my hair, said, "Son, take a good look around...
This here's Blessed Ground, and it's your home now,
Do your Country proud, this is your hometown!"

Back in Ninety-Five, Prez'dent's tellin' lies and breakin' rules!
Political fights between The Wrong and The Right...
Networks treat us like we're fools.
As Justice obstructs, Clinton passes the buck,
While sellin' secrets to Commie scum...
Algore grasps their illegal cash, sordid times had come...
To our Country...Won't you see? Liberty, it ain't free!!

Now White House's stonewallin' Congress, showin' no remorse...
Seems like there ain't nobody values Character no more.
Still, we're closin' in to prove Slick's guilt, while Elitists fret...
FReepers say, "These Bums're already TOAST, they just don't know it YET!!"
It's our turn now, let's show 'em how...
To devolve Power, to your hometown.

So, Right, don't delay, seize the day, condemn Bill's Tyranny!
Forcin' out these crooks, it's OUR Destiny!
I'm Thirty-Five, got two kids of my own now...
Last night, set 'em up o'erlookin' the Sea..
I said, "Kids, take a good look around...this here's Blessed Ground!"

Mudboy Slim

Please pardon the vanity; however, with two young children, my wife and I don't get to the movies much anymore and I'm just getting around to watching "Saving Private Ryan." I must say, while I can't stand Spielberg's politics, he does tell one Hell of a story. As coincidence would have it, we rented this movie on Memorial Day weekend, and I was floored by the sacrifice our forefathers made in the fight against Tyranny and Injustice. My hat is off to all those Freepers out there who have fought in defense of our Country and our Liberty, as well as those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. To quote Abraham Lincoln, "I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice on the Altar of Freedom."

And to those of you who are losing heart in our ongoing battle against Tyranny and Injustice in our own Country, please remember the sacrifices our predecessors made...and realize that Bill Clinton is no match for the progeny of our honored forebears.

You ever think of putting some original music to these fine lyrics?

Man, you got enough to be churning out CD's every six months 'til we elect the next administration in 2008!

Think about it.

"Louisiana's Faux Republican"

"For years a loyal marcher in Tom Daschle's anti-Bush army, Ms. Landrieu is a changed politician since the GOP sweep of November 5. Having opposed a homeland security bill for months, she recently flipped and voted for it. Having refused to make the Bush tax cuts permanent even after she'd voted for them, she now sounds like there's no tax cut she wouldn't support. And she notes whenever possible that she's voted with Mr. Bush 74% of the time. "I will work with the President, as I have in the war against terrorism, to reduce taxes, to support him in many, many ways," she said recently on NBC's "Meet the Press." This Saturday's Louisiana runoff is about whether the GOP's Senate majority will reach 52, or stay at a more precarious 51. But more broadly it's an illustration of the dilemma faced by the entire Democratic Party given Mr. Bush's popularity. In Washington, liberal interest groups and partisan loyalties dictate that they take an anti-Bush line. But that can be suicide back home, especially in the South, where voters want to see the Bush agenda enacted."

Great article, IMHO...MUD
