This is an urgent plea for help from Prairie Lady; these are her posts: [copied]
I JUST got off the phone with my neice. It seems my sister (her mother) is missing since yesterday between 3pm and 4:40pm yesterday from the SouthCarolina area.
She headed north as far as we can track, but then nothing. This is TOTALLY uncharacteristic of her.
We need to know if she is on her own willingly making decisions, or if she has been abducted and is in need of help. Is there anybody from that area that can help?
----------------------
ok, she spoke to hubbie from home via phone about 3 pm yesterday afternoon. She left home at that time saying she was headed for her local walmart near Aynor South Carolina..I don't know the exact town...maybe conroe or something? She never made it to walmart. Survaliance tapes show she never went in there. She withdrew some money from the bank locally. She put gas in her car at the north carolina / south carolina state line (cherry creek). She withdrew a BUNCH of money in Raliegh Durham North Carolina. She spoke to her daughter at 4:30 saying she was going christmas shopping and that she would be late. But she never made it home.
If she had any inclinations to leave home, she never indicated it, and she would NOT be heading NORTH!!
She is 5'7 inches tall, LONG legs, 150 lbs, has very short medium brown hair. lots of freckels, hazel eyes. Driving a Dark Blue BMW 4 door with a mini antennea on the driver's side on the post between the door and the windshield, licence plate # 845HLG
----------------------
Go ahead and post it at freeps..thanks
----------------------
My brother in law is former military police. He made a call to the police and is tracking bank usage which is showing itself to be very abnormal such as numerous attempts to use the various cards but rejects due to wrong pin numbers. He's requested survalance tapes from the banks as well. She was supposed to go to walmart, but walmart survaliance tapes show she never made it there. So, hes compiling stuff to show that something IS very wrong.
Also, she talked to her daughter AFTER one of the cash drafts and said someting weird to her daughter...like I love you...and she NEVER says that to THAT daughter.
Anyway, I didn't want to put all this on the boards...
This is too weird.

To: Cascadians; All
Thank you for posting the message from PL. It helped me as I was wondering just how Alice's family (and Samantha's) was doing yesterday. It made me feel better.
I will begin again on Monday to try and gather some info and find out what we here can do about the alerts. Please pass on ANY ideas. I will let you know what I find out.
Bless you guys! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Continuing in prayer.

Thanks for posting PL's note. Still praying for the families of Alice and Samantha.

Prayer bump.
To: gracex7
Amen.
To: Cascadians
Thank you for letting us know how Alice's family spent this day of Thanksgiving. Sadly, the upcoming days are going to be even more difficult ---- unless there is a miracle, and that is hard to even fathom at this point. How I ache for them.
I HATE injustice!! These cold-blooded creatures have all the answers, and they just let people suffer.
I'll continue to pray for Alice and Samantha and their families. We will have an answer someday, God willing.
To: Cascadians
Thanks for the report. You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be throughout this ordeal.

Thank you for posting PL's message, Cascadians.
Continuing to pray.

You are all very welcome. At this point we are not typing our thoughts because they would get a rating not suitable for a public family board. Something is askew is a system that gives more rights to proven perpetrators of ghastly crimes than their innocent victims.

Update from Prairie Lady:
"You know what folks? That loss of words is also a part of this kind of situation. Even my family and I just sit and stare at each other not knowing what to say to each other. What CAN a person say in this kind of a mess??? There really aren't any words to convey adequately what we are all feeling. I think many of you who can't imagine what it may be like to go through this really DO know and you may not realize it. I can see it in your words. So for that reason, when You say you don't know what to say..well, I understand because neither do I know what to say.
It's ok not to know what to say, because even in saying that, I know that you do understand, and that you are sharing the same kinds of feelings that we are having. Most of you felt the same shock and horror, the same anger, even grief over a person you hadn't even met, knowing within yourselves what grief feels like because you too have lost loved ones in your lives. We all share the same sense of senselessness, helplessness, wishing that we could do something to take it away or to ease the pain. I wish I could do that for my mother who has lost her very first child, for my sisters, for Barry who has lost the wife he cherished and didn't realize just how much until now. Alice's children who though young women in their mid 20's are now orphans having neither mother, nor their birth father as he also died a tragic and unexpected death around 1996 or so.
Most of you understand the limbo of not even having a body to bury and to grieve, nor any indication that she may be alive which could even be a form of denial at this point in time, yet we need some sort of hope to cling to.
Most of you do indeed know, and those who think they can't imagine...I think you can, and you shouldn't. It's too overwhelming. Many of you even felt that.
That ability to empathize and sympathize is such a wonderful thing. The fact that you took the time to even put 2or 3 words...I'm praying, or I don't understand, or I care...those words have touched me deeply and have been arms to carry me. I have been comforted in as much as can even be by your kindnesses and gentleness, your anger and you dispair. We have shared that together.
Because of you, I wasn't alone, because I too have had a very hard time talking. It's been very hard to talk to those in my family because their grief is so deep that to talk to them was like adding another burden to them. Our ability to comfort one another is impaired in that we are each so deep in grief that we don't have much to give each other, in terms of comfort. Like a candle burned at both ends
So, your verbal arms have ment much. Those of you with whom I have talked with were a further extension of that. I got to meet Second Amendment Mama on wednesday, we went for lunch together. She hasn't been a regular member here, she's from freepers, but I've seen her name on posts in this thread. I got to meet Tankgurrl and some others that I became familiar with on line. Each of them cared in their own ways and stood as a tangible outreach of this forum and freepers too.
Many of you have reached out in other tangible ways such as through donations which have helped many here in meeting even the bare basics of life, in addition to the additional expenses. Thank-you for that help.
Everyone did a most fantastic and wonderful job of keeping the news flowing, making posters, phonecalls, doctoring photos, contacting the right people, searching the woods, keeping people interested in what was going on...I have never seen anything like this before. For all of it, I'm grateful!
Lastly, I don't have words either to describe my own deep gratitude and love for all of you. Somehow a simple thanks is just not enough, yet I know you all didn't do what you did for a thanks. You did it out of the goodness of your heart. That much goodness is a blessing to see! Somehow i recall some words about casting your bread upon the waters and it will return to you tenfold...I need to look it up to be exact, but If its not out of context, may your return be a thousand fold!
Love,
PL"

Continuing in tearful prayer ...
To: Cascadians
I was out of town for a few days and was hoping that there would be some news about Alice when I returned.
Thank you Cascadians, for posting PL's words. She's quite a special lady to be taking time out at the pinnacle of her grief to post a message to her internet friends. I just wish that there had been something more that could have been done to bring Alice home.
The sadness is profound......and I wish I could give PL a warm, caring hug....{{{{{PL}}}}}

I think what most of us here who are not related to Alice or Samantha know in our hearts is this:...you have two escaped convicts caught on video kidnapping a woman...they are caught and yet we can not get a sinlge word from them on where Alice nor Samantha is....
is anyone else here with me when I say that in these cases extraordinary measures were called for?.
.that either sodium pentathal or torture might have been used to get one of these evil, evil men to point the cops in the right direction?.
.afterall..the women could have still been alive, and here we sit, feeding and clothing these monsters...
funny yet poignant movie...a favorite or our family, is "Guarding Tess" about a secret service detail guarding a former Presidents's widow....its a love/hate relationship...but, the widow gets kidnapped, buried alive, and once the main SS guy figures out that she will be dead unless the perp talks, he risks it all and shoots off the toe of the perp...infront of his boss...and threatens to shoot them all off....
well, well, the perp talks and the widow is found, barely alive....
it may sound nice and pretty but situations like these demand more action than just feeding and clothing the perps....

To: cherry
well, I guess it needed to be said twice....sorry..
To: cherry
You could say it 100x and we would agree each time.
To: cherry; Cascadians; All
Well said, cherry. "Guarding Tess" is a favorite of ours, too. I have a whole new understanding now of Doug's anxiety and the raw emotion that led up to his forcing the kidnapper to reveal where Tess was.
Cascadians, thank you for again sharing PL's words. She is so perceptive and thoughtful to give us her insights; she puts the feelings into words so well.
Alice has drawn us together, and she has become part of all of our lives. This thread is the first thing I check every morning when I turn on the computer, the one I return to again and again throughout the day, and the last thing I read before shutting down the computer each night.
How I pray that Alice and Samantha will be found soon, and that justice will be served to those responsible. I will keep praying for strength and comfort for PL and Barry and the rest of their family, as well as Samantha's family. I pray for Alice and Samantha, too, but in my heart I feel that they are beyond suffering now. But they still need to be brought home to their families.
To: cherry
I also agree with you Cherry, no matter how many times you say it. I hope everything possible was done and is being done.
(Personally, torture would be/would have been... "A ok" with me)

This thread is the first thing I check every morning when I turn on the computer, the one I return to again and again throughout the day, and the last thing I read before shutting down the computer each night.Me too. It weighs so heavy on my heart.
To: Velveeta
I still check this thread every day too, only to find nothing new, it is really frustrating.
I understand there are all kinds of laws protecting suspects, and I agree in many cases because if someone is innocent they need their rights.. the cases of innocent people being bullied into confessions are sad too.. but in this case there is lots of proof to tie these two guys to Alice's disappearance. It should be allowed to do what is necessary to make them talk. We protect the criminals and let the victims suffer on :(
To: Myranya
Always the first and last thing we check is this thread. We pray that soon the families of these poor, innocent women will be able to have some relief by finding their loved ones and giving them a decent burial.
Someone said earlier that our legal system is askew and they are so right. How did it happen that the innocent can be preyed upon and then society is required to protect the predators? This needs to be changed somehow.
I personally feel that the law has become a game between the prosecutors and the defence and all many of them care about is the score. The prevailing attitude of many prosecutors for conviction reagardless of guilt or innocence and the attitude of defense attorneys for freeing their clients regardless of guilt just to have a good record seems to me to be at odds with what our laws should be about--and maybe are really about. It should be about finding out the TRUTH. In this type of case the defense should have a moral responsibility to help provide an answer to the whereabouts of these women. But moral responsibility seems to be hard to find anywhere these days. This is all so very sad.
