Captured? What happened, we ran out of hell fire missles? ;-)

Fox just updated their story with a little more, nothing concrete.
Officials called the arrest of this "big fish" a significant intelligence victory, comparable to the capture of Al Qaeda chief of operations Abu Zubaydah, who has provided a wealth of information about the terror network since being taken into custody.

My first though...Omar

Authorities refused to name the al Qaeda leader but said he was captured during the past week and that the man is one of the
TOP 20
al Qaeda members sought by the U.S. government. They did say he was not Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, Ayman al-Zawahiri, or the terrorist group's operational leader, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed.

"FINDING THE ONES RESPONSIBLE FOR KILLING 3000 AMERICANS!"
Ultimately, that would be Liberals and Democrats.

What about "Mullah Omar?"

We-e-e-ll, I'd say that if we got an attack, this guy's the first one to be hung from the yardarm in full view of the public and of every TV station in the world. And we just keep doing it to all these leaders until they're all gone...

Gosh, Tiny Tom's NOSE is larger than his whole body. Can he stand up straight????

I'm sure they've got the ACLU on the case already. I can hear them whining already, "Where's the due process????"These are the same scum bags who would have come to the defense of the Japanese Navy at Pearl Harbor. What scum bags.

That or perhaps when the other bad guys realize that one of their own has been captured, they'll have the tendency to dump what they are doing and run to hide. Much easier to get them if they don't think their mission has been compromised.
To: Fantelina
That would definitely generate some excitement in the intelligence communties, which would explain this partial announcement.

Forgot to add some others I just remembered: - Rifa Ahmed Taha (C-in-C of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad) - Tawfiq Attash Khallad (South Asian operations chief) - Abu Mohammed al-Masri (East African operations chief) - Mohammed Abdel Rahman (military commander)Do you really have these names all in your head? Wow!

"The article says "recently" caught. Do ya suppose Dubya caught the guy one or two months ago and just now decided to release the information? I have heard that one or two "bigs" were caught one to two months ago but it was never reported by TV or mainstream press."My hope would be that the administration has one or two of these dudes on ice at all times just waiting for Little Tommy Daschel (Minority Leader to be), to pop off again. Each time he does, they trot out a new capture and he looks stupider, and stupider, and stupider..........

We don't yet know how high up this guy is the hierarchy, but here are a couple of names to watch for if it's a big catchIs there a website listing the bigwigs in Al Qaeda? Preferably one with photos and big red "X" marks over the ones that have been captured or killed. At fbi.gov they have the "22 Most Wanted Terrorists" page but it doesn't list several of the "big fish" that have been caught so far.
Thanks.

...that result in mass casualties and severe damage to the U.S. economy... Please don't flame, but 911 (from the terrorists perspective) was more of an attack on our economy than on innocent civilians. Bin Laden doesn't value life and freedom as we do, but he understands our robust and diverse culture is directly tied to our economic strength.
Killing people leaves an emotional scar on Americans, but taking out key infrastructure leaves a permanent (WTC) and terribly expensive scar on our nation. I look for future attacks to be aimed at economic assets like bridges, tunnels, water supplies, etc. I hope I'm wrong. (Dog: I've been offline all day)
