In a long nutshell: Jack spent Thursday night in ICU here in town. They are not equipped for heart surgery, but they stablized him and watched him. Yesterday the EMS took him to Ohio Univ. Hospital. They did a cath. right away. What they found is that this is his third heart attack. He is not a candidate for by-pass or balloon because the arteries that are clogged are too small. His heart is enlarged and weakened. What he suffered Thurs night was congestive heart failure. They will treat him with meds and a heart rehab program. He will have to carry the Nitro pills from now on. If he behaves himself he may live some more years. I seriously doubt he will behave though. He's a blazing type A and a former Marine. YOU tell him what he can't do.
We called his aunt from Columbus this morning and we could hear Uncle raising heck in the background because they were giving him a bath. "I don't need no d**m bath!" So I think he's probably going to be around for a while yet too.
So, once again, your prayers have brought miracles. I wish I could reach out and (((HUG))) each one of you. I felt pretty calm after the Lord provided the cop. I prayed all the way to the hospital, and felt that Jack was going to be alright. He was giving the staff at OSU Hospital a hard time when we left today. I've come home to get a night's sleep and a BATH. I plan to drive back up in the morning. Maybe I can bring him home Monday. God bless you all. Nan
We will continue praying for a complete recovery and a LONG life!!
Tell Jack that I love him (he'll know what I mean by that, as a brother in Christ!), and that I want him to be up and bein' feisty the next time I get down there to see you!
Be well, my friend! Get some rest, and feel the PEACE that passes understanding, through Jesus Christ, our LORD!
Thanks, Kay, for the ping!! I've been waiting anxiously to hear!
