What would be the university's reception to a proposal to have a workshop featuring 'Understanding Evangelical Christianity'?

In Tucson? No way, Jose!
That's Arizona'a hotbed of Liberalism (with apologies to several fine FReepers residing there); Tucson and Pima County are the voting blocs that provide us our 2 Dim congress-critters.

Las Sinfronteras, a community-based feminist arts organization, will host Tucson's "first ever" fisting workshop.

I hear that Hillary,Donna Shalala and Madeline Notright will be the demonstrators for this workshop.

"Public universities in general . . . do not make advance judgments on what ideas it's ok to discuss."

Absolute bull****. Do you think they would fund a speaker advocating the idea that homosexuality is a curable disorder? Or that sexual abstinence is a good idea for young people?

the festival will provide University of Arizona students and faculty with the opportunity to attend an educational workshop

When I was in college, we didn't need a workshop like this. Everyone just seemed to get the hang of it....

"Erotic pioneers?" Has a nice, nostalgic, almost Western movie ring to it: "All right boys, round up the p*ssy posse, and let's ride!"

I wonder what the final exam is like in that course: "Geez, I didn't study for my fisting final, so when a question came along I didn't know, I just pulled it outta my a$$..."

That event will be led by former prostitute Carol Leigh, who currently teaches "Prostitution 101" at San Francisco's Harvey Milk Institute

Criminy sakes...

I've never been to San Francisco...
and this is just one more reason to avoid it like the plague.

I don't care what people do in the privacy of their own home but this is just wild, what does this have to do with academics? Bizzarre & wild stuff to say the least, some people are just out there.

There's no money in it. That's why you see sex in the media, not religion.

The facts in this case are so ludicrous that it reads like sarcastic humor.

Unfortunately, it's your tax dollars at work.

Separate state and education.

Then those who want to put on fisting conferences can look for the obviously widespread financial support for their perversion.

I'm staying up here at the cabin,
but how you spend shore leave is your business.
