"Eid mubarak," or "May your religious holiday be blessed," is the message on the Eid stamp, honoring Muslim feast days known as Eid. The U.S. Postal Service first issued the stamp on September 1, 2001, at the annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America. It was reissued October 10, 2002.

This makes me shake my head in wonder. The whole page is ludicrous but the stamp for a muslim holiday is over the top and disgusting. Christmas stamps are relegated to having snowflakes, a tree, or maybe a snowman on them. Imagine if the USPS released a stamp with a verse from the Bible talking about the savior being born in Bethlehem.

Perhaps if they want to issue a stamp depicting islam, then maybe they should issue one with the WTC on fire with jet fuel burtsing through the side.

Why isn't the left crying about separation of mosque and state? Where is the ACLU at? It's not like they have a political agenda or anything.

Yes, we are ultimately doomed until we recognize who the enemy is >>> Islam.

Sadly, the Multiculturalists are firmly in control of the cultural agenda.

Am I the only one who has been buying Maddona and Child Christmas stamps every year? I'm not disagreeing with your dislike of the Muslim stamp, but I think you're mistaken regarding the absence of a Christian stamp.

In Saudi, we used to say the greeting was "Eid me". Of course we would only utter it around other Americans.

Though I go to the post office very little these days. Email ya know. ;) I also question the timing and appropriateness of the stamp and the use of the government web site.

Along those same lines, it concerns me that since we now have an Elvis stamp, we may soon have an Eminem stamp. How do we sleep at night?

In the article:

"Lewis said the claim that Islam is responsible for terrorists is just as incorrect as the assertion that Christianity produced the Nazis."

I don't recall Hitler quoting from the Bible when murdering Jews, or getting Christian theologians to publicly discourse on the Christian justification for the Holocaust.

Yet in Islam, this is normal, daily fare. Killing Americans and Jews is part of the spontaneous discussion in mosques from Indonesia to Paramus, New Jersey.

Interesting...

The United States Postal Service announced that beginning in 1995, it would cease printing the Christmas stamps series reproducing paintings of the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus. ..

The public outcry following the government's announcement that it would discountinue the annual Madonna and child Christmas stamp was so loud, that they relented and have continued to issue the stamp.

I make it a point to buy ONLY this stamp for my holiday mailings. It's just one more way to be politically incorrect!
