Hell, the way things are headed with the Democrats, Harold Ford will be a Republican by '04.

American Conservative Union (100 = highest possible score)www.acuratings.com/

Ford’s Lifetime rating is 12
David (I Love Saddam) Bonior’s Lifetime rating is 7

Ford’s 2001 rating is 8
David (I Love Saddam) Bonior’s 2001 is 20

Hard to make the case that you are a moderate when your 2001 voting record is more liberal than David Bonior's

Ford is not a moderate. He is from the overwhelmingly democratic 9th district of Tennessee. He will never switch. He may be talking moderate today, but he is liberal. What do you expect, his role model was our county's first black president.

Relevent is the operative word here and I agree. The two major issues this election cycle were the war on terror and the economy. Bush owns the war on terror so the democrats tried to run on the economy. The problem was that the majority of the people favored republicans to handle the economy. Nobody seems to be talking about this problem either. The democratic party's future looks bleak indeed.

Thank you for posting the ACU ratings of Ford. I had not yet seen them. I now confess that I was duped by the relatively good press I have had from the relatively conservative media about him. So the bottom line is that though he may talk more moderately, he is a screaming liberal, though not as liberal as BelaPelosi (ACU=0)

Gotchya there on the natural extension. My point is that an honest democrat can't be elected when their positions are known. Mondale is at least an honest socialist.
