The author appears to be making a case--or at least a plea--for black separatism.

The author appears to be making a case--or at least a plea--for black separatism. My thoughts exactly.

I thought it was the opposite: that the author was complaining that the last 30 years of white liberal Great Society hasn't done anything for blacks but put them on welfare. I wish the author wrote about the current situation where fully qualified, if not more qualified, blacks are overlooked in political races, in particular Ford of Tennesse. I love watching liberals squirm when faced with their hypocricacy.

This is one of the most ignorant statements I have seen you post. (And that's saying a lot.)
He is calling for self sufficiency. It is an uncommon trait, so you might have a hard time recognizing it.

The author appears to be making a case--or at least a plea--for black separatism. The author seems to long for the day when there were "Black Communities" where there were black doctors, lawyers, pharmacies, shoemakers .... in short they did for themselves.
Liberals, of course, could not let this stand.

The author appears to be making a case--or at least a plea--for black separatismI totally disagree. When I read it, I was very pleased. I heard responsibility, taking charge, self-reliance. I saw an admission that whites are not oppressing blacks, but we all, in a capitalist society, serve each other.
Great article.
