Sunday Nov. 10, 2002; 2:10 p.m. EST McAuliffe Relative Got Millions While Senate Dems Went Begging
In the wake of devastating Democratic Party defeats in last Tuesday's election, party faithful are complaining openly that Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe lost the U.S. Senate by making the defeat of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush his top priority - as questions swirl over whether McAuliffe's family ties played a role in questionable allocations of vital campaign cash.
In a development that was largely overlooked during the campaign, McAuliffe's father-in-law, Richard Swann, served as finance chairman for Bush's Democrat challenger Bill McBride, whose campaign benefited from record-breaking infusions of DNC cash during the closing weeks of the race. Meanwhile Democrats in close U.S. Senate races around the country went begging.

I truly hope we are seeing the Clintons destruction of the Dim Party. The best part is how the Dims just follow them blindly, into destruction.

What, a NewsMax title misleading!?!!? Yep, no mention of irregularities beyond that Terry's father in law was the finance chairman for McBride. That doesn't mean anything beyond McBridge's a numnut. Course it is a little suspicious and anytime you spend $15.7M on race there's going to be some missing money.

The 2000 and 2002 losses go down as losses for Clinton. It's a part of written history for the (always) impeached former president.

I know in some political arrangements, the pay that the campaign manager etc. gets increases with the amount of money coming into the campaign. So, is that the case here?

Over at the cess-pit (dummies) there was a thread regarding getting rid of Clinton. The best insult the anti-Clinton forces could hurl at the Bill & Hill Glee Club was that they were gonna copy the thread over here at FR so we could all laugh are @sses off at them.
Sounded pretty good to me. hee, hee, hee.

It will be funny to see Bubba and Bubbette so destroy and discredit the Party that the Dims won't even realize what hit them until it is already over.

McAuliffe's father-in-law, Richard Swann, served as finance chairman for Bush's Democrat challenger Bill McBride, whose campaign benefited from record-breaking infusions of DNC cash during the closing weeks of the race.I am shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, that someone has the sheer gall to intimate Terry McAuliffe might have done something crooked or underhanded. His father-in-law did perhaps the finest job of getting his candidate ready to answer the tough questions that anyone has ever done.
McBride: "So what do I say when they ask how we're going to pay for socialist day care and the unqualified teacher employment act, I mean, the class size amendment?"
Swann: "What? Oh, sorry, just, eh, balancing my checkbook here... hang on a sec. What now? Oh, how to answer that? Tell 'em that it's a cigarette tax or, you know, just do something. Can you leave me alone? I've got this man from Switzerland on the line about a new account, very important stuff for your campaign."
McBride: "Duh, okay, Mr. Swann. I'm gonna go grin like an idiot for awhile, okay?"
Swann: "Whatever. >to phone< No, no, don't put my name on it, I just want a numbered account. You people don't cooperate with the IRS, right?"

You'd think the lemmings would finally learn, but they don't. McAuliffe has been a Clinton-backed disaster, and if Marse Hillary finally runs for the presidency it will be even worse. We're not all voters from New York, y'know, and the Clinton act has become more than a little obvious. No matter how afraid the Dems may be of the Clintons, history should show them to bail out now.

Say isn't Florida pretty close to the Cyman Islands? And up until the new campaign finance law kicked in didn't the candidates and thier comittees get to keep any excess money?

It actually reminds me of a true-life situation: I have heard of a lot of people who were diagnosed with cancer, only the cancer had advanced so much that it was too late to really do anything about it, except treat the symptoms. The Clintons are nothing but a cancer.
To: Paul Atreides
The Clintons are nothing but a cancer.Who would have ever dreamed that could come out of a town called Hope? :)
I think fear plays a large factor here, though. How would you like the thought of an angry Bill or (worse) Hillary on your case?

I would not be surprised to learn that the Clintons didn't get files only on Republicans.

Also, don't forget that Bubba actually came from Hot Springs, the vice capital of Arkansas.
