When I served, we were there to free men headed for Korea and combat, so it was never an issue for me.
While there are a variety of jobs many women can capably perform as well as men, I happen to concur women should not be in actual on-ground combat with the men.
The reasons should be obvious, for the sake of the Corps - and the women.
