I agree about women in combat units. There are too many things that can and will go wrong. The other comments and implications (or perhaps bad wording) was the primary thing that burned my hide. Enjoy the birthday celebrations! :-)

There are issues - and issues.
He chose a poor one.
Some male Marines are chow hall cooks.
Last time I looked, they are not required to toss many hand grenades.
Does that make THEM a less than useful, effective and honorable Marine??
Others haul garbage - hand out uniforms in Supply - work in Payroll.

Are we supposed to conclude the only GOOD Marines are those who fight hand to hand?
The only effective military groups, large or small, are those
ALL OF WHOSE PARTS FUNCTION WELL - AND TOGETHER.

The 'testosterone-filled combat man' could not dress, feed himself, get paid, receive mail, etc., or even GET TO the combat area without the other 99.99999 % of the MOS's supporting him!
