Would not be surprised that the real plan is to take Saddam first with lightning strike on a target specific (where intel shows him to be), thereby cutting off the head of the snake, based upon the not unreasonable assumption that the entire Iraqi armed resistence will then crumble. What a victory that would be! Minimum loss of life and minimum property destruction. Noise of large "invasion" would be put out to obscure this real plan.

Drudge is pulling out the siren again, only to take it off hours later. (Unless and I hope he doesn't and highly doubt he posts a siren with the exact month/ date)
This is not breaking siren news. All of the stupid talking heads on the TV spoke of this exactly as Drudge did, as soon as the U.N. passed their votes days ago and GAVE us permission.

So much for the Drudge siren treatment. Now the top story on Drudge is that Eminem is a colossal superstar and American icon.

Let me see.
1. Start with softening phase.
2. Go to invasion phase.
That reveals exactly nothing and sounds like every military campaign of attack since the advent of artillery.
The NYTimes, as ususal, has its head up its @ss.

If this is true, and it was leaked for real, our man Bush is NOT going to be happy. I pity the poor soul who did this.

Who's side are you guys on? Where do you get this ridiculous reports from?

I don't see anything here that is perticularly surprising. It goes without saying that we will attack with our first objective being securing air superiority, followed by cutting off the command and control of the enemy. After that we can pick them apart in anyway we see fit.
If someone leaked this thinking they were giving the NYT the "scoop" then my only hope is that the NYT paid the person hansomly for this information.

For what it's worth, last Oct. right before they started to attack Afganistan, we saw a bunch of military planes flying high above us heading in the same direction. Our whole town noticed.
Yesterday, we saw lots of them going in the same direction, and there were more than we saw those couple of days last Oct. At times there were 3 in the sky at the same time. Before I get flamed for LLSS, it can't be too secret when a whole town sees them and is talking about them. Lots of the guys here know about planes. They could be going anywhere in that part of the world, but yesterday there was a s***load of them flying towards the east. We live in a highly remote area.

How many times have we seen this stupid headline? I have a feeling we're not even going to go to war with Iraq. And kudos to the President if we don't.
