Tackling the Republican's problems in CA are similar to tackling them here in NY. The Demodogs are so deeply entrenched that they can not be dislodged statewide. There is no hope that a true Republican can be elected here, or there. However, in CA, there may be a glint of a hope coming in '06.

If, as is likely, the budget woes of CA come to fruition in the next several years, (I'm sorry, all my CA buddies), and the energy agenda is controlled by the greenies, there is a strong likelihood that in '06 there won't be a weak enough Republican candidate to lose, and a creditable one may have long coattails. In fact, I think Simon could easily be that candidate, and will run a better race.

In NY, it is more organic: the extremely liberal wing of the Demodogs has been kept in check for the most part. The RINOS keep a modicum of control in the Senate, and the worst is deflected. Yeah, we have Hitlery, but with the NYC votes, that was going to be very difficult to avoid. Our energy problem is going to come, but CA has helped show the way to not do things, and Niagara Falls and our nuclear plants really keep some of that in abeyance for now. We do have plenty of places to build, and that will happen when the time comes. Also, we are not expanding rapidly, as CA is.

See, the problem is that there are limited resources for the RNC. They must decide where they can get the most bang for the buck, both in terms of money and personnel. Many other states are ahead of both CA and NY in this line. We'll have to go it alone the best we can, until those states are reliably Republican and can do without RNC help.

So, the answer to whether the RNC is going to tackle the problems in CA is, almost certainly, no, at least in the near future. They can do far more good elsewhere with their resources. I don't like it either, but limits are reality.

>>If Cynthia McKinney or Barbara Lee won't do it, I guess Pelosi will do.

Bite your tongue; we worked hard to ensure Jihad Cyndy's lame duck status. We took her out of the running back in October.

She recently stated that she saw no threat from Saddam Hussein. After today's unanimous resolution in the United Nations, I wonder what is going on in her head. Nancy is not only disconnected from the American people, but she is disconnected from this world!

This makes her just left of Syria.......

You sound like you understand this problem well. Thanks for educating us.

I guess I still don't understand why the RNC would write-off 87 (CA + NY) electoral votes without more of a fight. While Davis certainly won in CA, it was not by a great margin. It would seem to me that with a little more effort (read, "Money and visits from the President") the RNC could take California. It is not like our Democratic Leaders are Popular...

Further, outside of the major cities,L.A. and San Francisco, the Dem's are not that popular. Is NY the same?
