Female empowerment is a myth, because when all things are said and a man can just take what ever he wants from a woman. Unless males get proper parenting that is usually what happens.

As long as a man isn't the one who gets pregnant all this
talk of "equality" is simply a smoke screen. A smoke screen, I might point out, that achieves the goals of the very men the NOW crowd so much claims to abhor.

I almost feel sorry for this miserable woman who finally got married after she wasted most of her life hating men.

"A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle," said militant male-basher Gloria Steinem.
I was refering to this woman.

Excellent point, Duke! Wonder why we pro-lifers aren't concentrating more effort on educating young men regarding the individual human beings in the womb? Oh! I forgot; the female of the species has the right to terminate ANY life support she's giving, but the male is legally bound to continue life support for at least eighteen years.

It's pretty sad when you see some 15 year old girl in the emergency room of a hospital because she tried to overdose on a bottle of tylenol. These girls may be promiscuous but they get dumped a lot and turned down. It's natural for the woman to let the male do the pursuing but what does it do to a girl's emotion when boys reject her offers?

"The article highlights this new girls-as-aggressors phenomenon as "daring," a logical outgrowth of women's "empowerment."
The real reason this is happening this way is that men are so afraid of being accused of sexual harrasmant, the girls have to initiate.Simple neccessity.

The secret is prevention of STD's and pregnancy, as well as a lot of health problems and mental and spiritual distress.
The article in the NYT (mentioned in this article) had the wrong focus, of course. The problem is not equality on the debate team or jobs. It's not even in who asks for a date, first. It's about teaching girls (and boys) that they have more to bring to a relationship - and to the rest of their lives - than sex. Sex is not for power over others or to win temporary companionship. It's to share with someone who loves you.

These are the women that go abstinent after the ring is on...LOL!
To: JohnHuang2
Women think the way to be acceptable to men is to be sexually forward. What men is it that she's looking for approval from? It's just more illusory "freedom" that women are seeking. While seeking to be "free" from the control of evil/exploitative men, they are actually just going from one form to another.
This is not meant to bash men. There are good men out there, and good women. Heaven help them find each other among the hordes of selfish men and women.

This guy is a total idiot. You shouldn't post his articles here, he's a disgrace and he makes conservatives look bad. Heritage should be ashamed to run his column.

I am sure you meant that as a joke, so won't flame you... but this is a very sad situation when young women are doing these things so frivolously.
ROB ROY: All men with honor are kings - but not all kings have honor.
SON: What is honor?
ROB ROY: Honor is.. what no man can give ye, and no one can take away. Honor is a man's gift to himself.
SON: Do women have it?
ROB ROY: Women are the heart of honor - and we cherish and protect it in them. You must never mistreat a woman, or malign a man. Or stand by and see another do so.
SON: How do you know if you have it?
ROB ROY: Never worry in the getting of it. It grows in ye and speaks to ye. All you need to do is listen."

??? Did you read the article?

It's to share with someone who loves you.
Unfortunately, too many young girls think that sex is the only way to get someone to like/love them. A shame that they think sex is the only thing that they have to offer...

I have sons, all of whom are hunks. They don't get phone calls from girls. In fact, they are/were rejected en masse by females when they call(ed) girls.
I never could figure it out. All three boys are conservative, Christian and Eagle Scouts. Miraculously, the eldest (founder of a dry fratnerity on his college campus) found the right girl (another "True Love Waits" prototype) and is getting married July 4. They will both be 22.
Boys #2 and #3 pine for girls who reject them, turn out to be lesbians, hate Republicans, etc.
The secret, I have found, is that alot of these girls are coming from homes with no parental supervision or core set of values. They are "sl*t" material, though I would never point that out directly to the boys.
Amazingly, as my parents would have predicted 40 years ago, "nice" girls do crop up and somehow G-d will find the right girl for someone at the right time.
Girls who have standards, one whom a parent would want a son to date, come from families who do not tolerate such behavior. They are still out there, probably wondering what's wrong with them, too.

No, I'm refering to
a different article:
America has divided into two factions: those who fight evil and those who do not believe in evil. The dividing line is religion. Those who believe in a Judeo-Christian God know the difference between good and evil because they know the value of human life. They know that an element of man is divine and that man has a purpose in the universe. They know that man has free will to choose between good and evil. And because they know the value of life, they know the evil of those who take it for non-defensive purposes.
They realize that terrorists who smashed airliners into buildings were not provoked by American foreign policy -- the terrorists were seeking death because they were part of a culture that loves death. Deeply religious people knew what America had to do in response: kill those responsible for the terrorism and those who supported them, and prevent the evil from growing.
The other faction does not believe in God, at least not actively. There is no good, and there is no evil, these people believe. If God has no purpose for man -- as they believe -- then life is meaningless, and the death of thousands of Americans has no more meaning than the death of a colony of ants.
