"Is anyone enjoying this as much as I am?

Yes ME! Loving it and - yes - gloating! I think the word "gleeful" would fit in there somewhere! How about "gloating gleefully" or "gleefully gloating"? :-))

Dole doesn't do squat to stop Bush from giving them to Turkey and Pakistan in return for their support in the war on terra.)

Well, I don't think Turkey would wage a war on terra without the backing of Sirius and maybe Alpha Centauri. After all, fighting your own planetary system is a difficult undertaking.

It gets better. On the "West Wing" thread, they are saying stuff like, "It made me cry" and "I wish I could live in TV land".

Thought others would also enjoy seeing the pain.

Thanks. It almost helps ease the pain of our new Democrap, feminazi governor here in Mich. We do have a lot to be thankful for nationwide.

I'd be happy to.

I was watching Fox News for a while, but we were just chewing up the RATS so bad that I changed to CNN (which I hadn't watched in 2 years). I have no idea who the anchor was, but he looked like he was about to cry when it dawned on him that Cleland would lose. OOOOOh, the humanity! LOLOLOL!!! Judy Woodruff was more composed than he was.

Then they switched back to the 'Crossfire' cast and Carville stuck a trash can on his head and was silent for an entire segment. It was the very best. I don't hate CNN near as much today.

I read that thread. Scary. Even scarier is the mental place they have to go to imagine Martin Sheen as president.

This is a classic, 99% of abc, cbs, nbc, msnbc are all major Democrat supporters, we finally got our own media outlets, and the Democrats think we rull the media:
See this Democrat post below:
No,I'm not blaming our losses totally on the Media, but on the other hand Dems get little air time to air our views. What precious time that the networks,Fox,MSNBC gives are shot down as lies, scaring seniors, etc by the flaming 14+ hour a day radio talk shows and the "fair and balanced" cable news stations.
Crap,in my city from 9:00am until Dr.Laura gives it up around 11 pm its non-stop 5 day a week Reich Wing crap about Dems. Most of these listening lemmings never care to check facts, they just vote for who Rush,Hannity and O'Reilly tell them to vote for. Its a major factor like it or not.

I hesitate to recommend this classic thread to a lady, but you're an adult and can enter at your own risk.

The DU's are talking about us:

What was with the "increased traffic" today?

I'm assuming it was freeptards gloating, going by their performance last night, but then looking at the member count, it hasn't increased dramatically, and usually they'll sign up to make an obnoxious comment or two. I would think that an influx of such idiots would make the membership counter rise.

Anyone have the skinny?

I don't understand why you give them the air time... Don't compute.

Did you read the DU poster who was so upset over the crazed right wing thugs about to destroy his country that he had to wear nipple clamps at the computer in order to soothe his outrage?

I missed that one ... of course, someone that has to displace psychic trauma (over a midterm election!) with physical abuse and self torture is a natural for the Democrat party. I did see numerous references to taking anti-depressants, to laying in bed all day, to fleeing the country in fear for their lives, to general hopelessness and pathetic despair.

I understand it to some extent. I was pretty upset when Bill Clinton was elected (to the point of remarking "damn, I can't believe that SOB won ... man, we'll have to get control of the congress in 2 years ... ") I didn't despair ... I didn't wallow in fatalistic gloom. I didn't wear nipple clamps. :)

It's too bad really. I used to be a Democrat much moreso than a Republican. I didn't much care for the Reagans during their time (I was in my 20's then.) But I grew up. I started paying lots and lots of taxes and wondering how it is that we have slid so far from the ideals of the republic envisioned by our forefathers. And I didn't need any psychoactive drugs to get thru it. I started voting, and paying attention, and realizing that as a country we have never lived up to our ideals, but we have to keep trying.

Dems have it harder though ... they are shoveling sand against the tide ... this country is not a socialist democracy, no matter how much they may wish it was. And it is true that they face a bunch of right-wing zealots (like me) that will do everything in their power to make sure that it never becomes one.

>>OOOOOOHHHHHHHH! I don't care what Rush says. GLOAT!
>>GLOAT!!! GLOAT!!!!!!

Rush is right. There's nothing wrong about being happy ... even ecstatic about the GOP's victory. However, publicly gloating has a way of backfiring. You would think with the Wellstone memorial debacle fresh in people's mind, that most would realize that public perception matters ... and that short-term ecstasy rarely endures. Nothing is forever ... as good as it might seem today. Think long term, folks. Govern with humility. It's now about power. It's about doing right.
