When the alarm went off this am and I heard NPR announce 'GOP takes Senate,' I refused to put on the Today show so I wouldn't see Russert's bloated puss. Driving to work, refused to listen to talk radio (I live in North Carolina and didn't want to hear about 'Liddy' that lying bitch. The people in NC are going to be pissed when what few manufacturing and textile jobs that remain leave the state and Dole doesn't do squat to stop Bush from giving them to Turkey and Pakistan in return for their support in the war on terra.) I was so depressed at work, even listening to Malloy didn't help. Won't watch Crossfire, just to avoid Tucker and Novak beaming. Won't have tv on O'Reilly because watching him gloat would be unbearable. And Hardball, won't ever watch that show again with Mathews and supreme whore Fineman. I wonder if cable news channels ratings will drop since Democrats are such a nonentity and don't make interesting opponents. There is always celebrity crime (Winona Ryder/Robert Blake). Thank God for this Forum.

This is the biggest reason why I want to see the GOP win elections. Just so THEY don't win.

Isn't this the question MSNBC answers on a daily basis?

REAL eyeopener. We are dealing with some seriously disturbed people that are going to be in our faces ad nauseum despite last nights victory. Be vigilant. Remember we are in a game that has no time clock.

The US has lost more jobs from Democratic Labor policies as well as major industies to third world concerns. When I was a kid growing up in Jamestown, NY, the labor unions went out on a tough strike and management told them they would have to close the plant if they continued. They continued, so they closed the furniture plant an moved it to North (or South?) Carolina.
Looks like they've gone full circle.

Interestingly enough, I was at Marshall Fields Department store today to buy sheets for our bed. I will only shop there for them because they have 400 thread count all cotton sheets. They are the best of the best. They cost $130 per set and are hand made. They are made in Pakistan. Sure I can buy crap from the company Erskin Bowles runs in a round about way(Springs Industries), but they make crap for K-Mart and the like. Springs has shut down all their quality production and instead buys the stuff from China and just prints designs on it here in the states.
The guy sounds like a bitter ex-textile worker who does not know who it is who screwed him out of his job and is too lazy to find out.
I am not getting enjoyment out of the authors dispair, but he needs to understand that manufacturing "stuff" that can be made for less and of better quality elsewhere will be phased out of manufacture here in the states. Elizabeth Dole and George Bush have nothing to do with that. I have just placed an order for a pair of Raichle hiking boots from Austria that cost $395. The first pair I bought in 1975. I had to retire them last year because the leather finally dry rotted and hence the need for the new pair. Twenty eight years for a pair of work boots I wore every day is quality. Any american out of work shoe factory workers out there wanna bitch about losing their jobs to foreign competition? Make a decent product and do so for a fair wage which enables your employer and workforce to coexist without forcing one side or the other into extinction. Look at Southwest Airlines for a good start. Quality service, fair price, fair wages, highest utilization percentage in the world(double Northwest), and a workforce that gives a damn about their company.

I spent almost 3 hours today on the DU site. The purpose was to get a feel for how the other side felt.
I went back to about noon yesterday and started rolling forward. I wanted to get a feel for "their pain". First off, I was shocked by the language allowed. Looks like a bunch of junior high trash.
Second, the thread logic (I know) was hard to follow - I guess this is a software thing. Post 1, then 5, then 3, then 9, etc. Fits, I guess.
Third, man are these folks pissed off. Almost unamious call for current Rat leadership to go away.
Fourth, they actually believe - many references - that the media is biased towards them! Equally as many posts that the "Repukes" - "RePugs", etc., are stealing votes!!!!
It was an eye opening experience, to say the least. Some had it pegged right, "our leadership failed us - no message - no issue", etc. But most were just foaming at the mouth, rant / rave about "shrub", etc.
Truly, brethren souls madly searching for a clue - so they can get on board the clue bus. I feel their pain.
I so very much wanted to make a post, just a short and simple one: "HeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHe."
Seriously, most of these folks are WAY out there. They can not possibly be watching / listening / reading the same news outlets I am. It really was shocking.

MORE RAT PAIN:
I cannot see how races the polls showed clearly in our favor, or in statistical dead heats, could have come in with such large margins for the Pubs, unless, indeed, the fix was in, and it's over. I am so afraid that democracy is finished in the United States, and what we did yesterday was just going through the motions - a horrible pretense.
Did we awake to a totalitarian nation today?
I am damn near certain we did. I hope I'm just overreacting, but I'm scared shitless.

Funny thing though. The guy can't watch news for one day because of gloating talking heads? Now he knows how I have felt for ten long years. He's a real pussy. He can't even take one day?

LMAO! I was reading some of their lunacy and I came accross this gem.
If you want to see the ugly future, take a look at Texas, where I am sitting. If only some of the other states had this future in store for them the Union would be much better.
Texas or Cali? Now that is a tough question isn't it? /sarcasm

Last night I chose to stay at the office and follow the good-versus-evil battle on a FR thread. I think I got information faster that way, but I missed out on seeing the bewilderment and pain on the RATS faces.
Will some of you please paint word pictures of some delicious TV agonies?

It is astonishing that they can actually think the media is "conservative" and "in the pockets of big business", but they do - just like the idiot quoted above actually thinks that the anti-tax-cut fanatic Tim Russert will be gloating over Republican victory. Alexander Solzhenitsyn wrote about what he called the cretinisation of Marxism. He suggested that people who had been educated in Marxist schools and conditioned to analyze society and politics according to Marxist principles become logically impaired. Something like this may have been happening here, leaving us with a pool of analytically-challenged left Democrats.
