Other expected goodies include oil wells in ANWR and major tort reform.

Every week or two, Lott comes out with some kind of strong and defiant statement bashing the Dems. Then the next day he rolls over again.
Lott needs to learn something from Bush and Reagan. Instead of talking big and doing nothing, conservatives need to talk kindly, politely, nicely--then do what's right.
My one problem with Newt Gingrich before he imploded was that he talked too belligerantly and riled people's feelings too much. It was OK when he was in the opposition and needed to make his point, but it was stupid after he got into power. Speak quietly and get the job done. That's the Texas way.

5) The best job in the world? I'd say that goes to the person who gets to throw Dashole out of his office and move him and Jeffords into the broom cloest in the basement.
I've been savoring this all day. What can be done to Jeffords now that the Republicans now control the Senate again? What are the worst committee assignments he can be given?
BTW, it sure was a good thing that the Pubs have 51 senators now with Coleman's victory - less incentive for Chafee or anyone else who would jump ship.
I sure was disappointed, I thought Thune was going to win in SD.
What are the chances in Louisiana now? The three republicans had over 50% combined!
Any chances any Dems will jump to our ship now?

Lott should be given a week to prove his resolve, and be replaced if he wimps out. Let's remember how the dems treated "power sharing".Indeed. This is no time for pussyfootin' around. The GOP needs a hardnosed infighter. Trent doen't have a lott to offer in that department.

...give my regards to your Donkey, eer DogHey now let's not get nasty. I'll have you know we both (the dog and I...she's 18, she can vote) proudly voted to keep Kathleen Kennedy Townsend out of office. (As an aside, have you ever noticed that KKT resembles a cross between a chipmunk and a Q-Tip?)

Thank God for the victory in the House & Senate. I pray that now that Republicans have both chambers they will show this country what true governing is.

I sure was disappointed, I thought Thune was going to win in SD. Forrester and Thune were victims of fraud and/or ignoring the law. We knew the Dems would win a few based on dirty tricks, it appears these were two of them.

NOW, Bush and Congress have two years to prove that they deserve this. As I said to you on another thread, I disagree. It is up to YOU and ME to prove that WE deserve this. If we sit back and bask in the glory of a republican congress then we are no better than the democrats. We have to make the changes locally and remember that these people have to be reminded that they are there at OUR behest, not theirs.
There is work to be done and only YOU and I can do it!

Lol, AppyPappy. I most probably wouldn't either.

No, in defiance of Dubya's 'no gloat' rule Lott said, "Let's troll" before heading over to DU.

I don't agree with that statement Flying "A". He and other members of Congress having been using that phrase since 9-11. Freepers didn't really start using it for days afterwards. In fact the first freeper I heard use or say it was usconservative one night on Paltalk.

Maybe we should start a Lautenbergi pool to see when he steps down and allows McGreavy to appoint someone who would have lost to Forester. I bet Lautenbergi retires after he is sworn in.
