1. Flippant answer: we've tried "other means." It's time for something drastic! Move inland!

2. I feel basically the same about living in California, period. But looking at maps like this (and the similar CA map after 2000) make one feel as if one is a member of a split state.

3. Perhaps we could split off the coastals, and call the new state New Delachusylvanimont?

There was a book written back in 81 called "The Nine Nations of North America", Joel Garreau (the writer) call tne coastal strip from the border up through Alaska ecotopia.

As an aside even though it was written 21 years ago it still provides some good insights to our country.
