You are right about not energizing our base. Voting for the president on items like the tax cut and holding up the Homeland Defense bill told us that we weren't really standing for something, we're standing in the way for something.

I say, take stand for something - ANYTHING!!! - and let the chips fall where they may. Right now isn't a good time to help the helpless, people want to fight a war and pay off their credit cards...
