"Those 3,000+ libertarian votes would have been nice to have. Alas, some people never learn....."

"Bingo, annie. But you'll never convince them of that."

We have the same libertarians who may have allowed a dem in the governorship here in AZ. We're waiting on the absentee vote. Matt Salmon *may* just pull it off. I sure hope so.

200 votes now...

U S SENATE
(L) EVANS KURT 3063 1 842 844
(D) JOHNSON TIM 166913 50 842 844
(R) THUNE JOHN 166713 50 842 844

I smell a recount.

But better to start out ahead than behind.

I think we need a recount of the PEOPLE living here - there's only 14,000 in town, I cannot begin to estimate the registered voters - need to register 30 days before Election Day.

Hey Annie......

GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!

The gop has a great opportunity now to forever win back the libertarian voters.

There is nothing preventing the President and congress from restoring our republic to what the Founders intended.

I'm looking forward to the overhaul, it's 60 years overdue.

Third-party "types" also cost conservatives the AZ governorship. Matt Salmon's margin of defeat was much smaller than the third-party total. It may also be that a third-party person cost the TN conservative Republicans the governorship of that state. Thus far only "moderate conservatives" have ever been elected statewide on the Republican ticket in TN.

That's why I left an unopposed Democrat alone and did not vote for the Libertarian candidate. We need to discourage the Libertarians. A Libertarian could have cost the GOP the governorship in GA but did not. GA was one of the surprising bright spots for the GOP -- many think Ralph Reed deserves much of the credit for Republican successes there. Maybe GA is now apologizing for inflicting GA Jimmy on the body politic!

For DasHELL this is a power/ego trip. He'd rather risk exposure and jail than admit defeat. He was BRAGGING this morning on CNN how "HIS MAN was the last man standing." Total divorce from realty. What is wrong with those people?

FOX is behind again. They just reported those 1000 Indian votes will go for Johnson but have not been tallied yet.

I hate to be pessimistic, but this brings OwlGore back from the dead. This election will drive the Dims to the extreme left.

They'll go back to what works for them (i.e. giveaways) in order to energize their base. I think we're going to see a demonization of the GOP by the media, like we've seen before...

"Punch cards are much better than this touch screen voting. The new method leaves no paper trail. You have to take the results on faith."

I disagree, only because the following has proved better wherever it has been used as in Texas and most of Florida (even more now in many districts, except those Dem districts with the hanging chads that spent multi-millions when the could have only spent multi thousands or a couple million).

The Mark-sense machine is the only machine in use that is the way to go.
It is still manufactured and is a machine that uses paper ballots printed with circles, ovals, squares, or rectangles that voters fill in with a pen or pencil to mark their votes (great for retirees who can do bingo cards).
Optical scanning technology is generally used to detect the marks on each ballot.
Some mark-sense systems require ballots to be marked using soft lead pencils, while others may be marked with almost any writing instrument (although most require that red ink not be used). Similar systems are widely used for standardized college entrance exams.
Ballot questions are generally printed directly on the ballot, next to the ballot choices. Write-in votes can usually be marked directly on the ballot as well.
Mark-sense ballots may be tallied at local precincts or centralized tallying facilities. Some precinct tallying systems are designed to allow voters to submit their own ballots for scanning.
The scanning machine can thus notify voters if their ballot is improperly marked, giving them an opportunity to remark their ballots.

This has been one of my pet interests since the 2000 debacle in FL and I would love to see these machine used in every district in every state of the union. I have some interesting documentation for anyone interested.

And I say let them go to the extreme left. They will divide their own party.
