4 Shannon?

Hang it up. They took it.

Republicans used to own the black vote because we freed the slaves.

Then the Dems co-opted the Civil Rights movement and promised them the moon, which they haven't delivered.

I think we can do a better job for both African-Americans and native Americans than the Democrats, and I wouldn't be surprised to see ole George figuring out how he can compassionately conservatively help them figure out the American Way.

Automatic recount is triggered by a margin of less than 1/4 of 1%. Based on the current vote totals, that would be 838 votes. It's hard to imagine that there could be more than a couple thousand votes left to count. So figure the magic number will be about 840 to trigger a recount.

6 more precincts...lead is down to 896.

Nice job by the Democratic operatives.
They knew which precincts to stall on and somehow...enough votes appear.
Voila!

Looks like the trotskyites are fixing the election. Figure the odds the lead changes in coincidence with the final few votes.....

AP and VNS thinks we won Minnesota, at least they called it for Coleman just now.

If there was fraud, it didn't help.

It's a shame to feel bad about losing a race on a night we took back the Senate and beat Mondale, but this is really making me feel sick to my stomach. I hope we're surprised.

It would be a big moral boost for the FBI if their fraud investigation saved the day for Thune.

I find it very strange that the county which favors Johnson the strongest is the last county to report its results.

Keep in mind that the Senate is the "sole judge of the qualifications and elections" of its Members. So says the Constitution. If the whole Senate decides that fraud in Shannon County gave the race to Johnson, it has the POWER to seat Thune, instead!

But they won't.

I'm going to enjoy the recount trememdously instead.

last county to report its results.

What would be interesting is if Thune won by a very small number of votes...
small enough to trigger the automatic re-count...and Johnson declines and concedes.

If that happens, it will be time to bring in the FBI and document the vote fraud that
just happened to fall short.
