Howdy Howlin and all. Reporting in from California where turn out is going well in my area. I went to vote a few minutes ago, and the parking lot was full, and I had to wait just a few minutes. I asked the election workers how turnout was and they said it was real heavy! I hope that is a good thing! LOL
Already disgusted with the RATs for accusing Pubbies of dirty tricks.
Too early for returns I would think on the left coast.

Learn to spell bellwether, dammit. It's been misspelled on this thread a squadrillion times already. We'll be seeing that word a lot, and we might as well get it right. A wether is a neutered ram; if he wears a bell to lead the flock, he's a bellwether.

Sorry, it's a pet peeve. End of rant.

OK, I'm ticked. AOL's stupid election alert reads "Democrats Look to Retain Control of the Senate". However, when you read the story, it just says that's what the Dems are hoping to do. What a bunch of jerks!

California voters, read my profile page.

This is our one chance to flip off Davis and tell him where to shove his deceptively written propositions.

Just paid a visit to out "friends" over at Democratic Underground...

They are just about in a state of meltdown!

It drove them crazy that Jeb and Katherine Harris won in Florida, one went as far as to say that he hoped her plane went down in flames on the way to DC. (real compassionate after Wellstone)

Most of them are claiming they personally were turned away from the polls by republican thugs and that the results are showing republicans stealing another election

Holy Crap! SC might go to the Dems. With about 30% of the votes in, Hodges (D) is beating Sanford (R) for the governorship by two points and Sanders (D) is beating Graham (R) also by two points.

Thuman (D-FL) down by a couple of thousand to Ginnie-Brown Waite(R). Polk and Hernando county left to tabulate. Looking more and more like another republican pick up. Any thoughts from Hernando or Polk?

Best site I found so far, it lists all races where the parties controlling the seat have changed. As of now, the Repubs have taken two seats...

On floriduhs ballot and passing!

Florida voters to decide if pregnant pigs should be free

By The Associated Press
(8/6/02 - TALLAHASSEE, Fla.)
A proposal to make caging pregnant pigs unconstitutional in Florida qualified for the November ballot after what was thought to be the nation's first such petition drive.

Floridians for Humane Farms reached the required 488,722 certified signatures on Monday, according to the Division of Elections.

The amendment would phase out the use of 2-foot by 7-foot metal cages to confine sows during pregnancy, as well as tight tethers.

"It's no surprise that packing animals in small metal cages for months at a time leads to enormous suffering and emotional frustration," said Wayne Pacelle, a senior vice president of The Humane Society of the United States, which cosponsored the petition drive.

No state currently bans the technique, Pacelle said.

Florida is 30th in the nation in hog production, far behind leaders like Iowa, North Carolina and Minnesota, and only a few swine producers in the state are known to confine pregnant pigs in crates.

The petition drive was the first of its kind in the country, Pacelle said.

SC rallies. With about 45% votes counted, Graham (R) jumps ahead of Sanders (D) to hold Strom Thurmond's seat with a 52-47% lead. The race for Governor is tied at 50% each.
