Okay, can somebody explain the Louisiana thing to me?State law requires the winner to have at least 51% of the vote. That WILL happen in a runoff between two candidates...

Fromt Townhall.com:
Ehrlich wins
The impossible has become a reality for Maryland Republicans. They have a GOP governor for the first time in nearly 40 years.

Lousiana was originally French ,the political subdivisions happen to be parishes instead of counties ;counties come from the English style of gov't.
I LIKE the idea of requiring the winner to garner 50% PLUS 1;if that was national, clinton wouldn't have made it!
To: Churchjack
Cameron saying it looks like ALLARD is going to do it!
If he wins, then we only need one of Missouri, South Dakota, or Minnesota.
WE TAKE MARYLAND GOVERNOR!!! EHRLICH WINS!!!
To: jwalsh07
Don't get down about AR, as we pretty much expected it. Of course we thought MO would offset it, but with GA, this is a PLUS. Of course the media will try and play it out as a "wash" as long as they can tonight. My prediction when all is said and done ---- Reps 52 , Dems 46, Ind 2
To: wirestripper
Mr. Jeffords, you backed the wrong horse my friend. Your fifteen minutes are up!
To: eddie willers
We'll get them next time.
But we've made gains elsewhere. Damn, have we made gains this year...

Can we start the poll now for how long Lautenberg will last and who his replacement will be?
To: LS
The scumbag Larry King, when interviewing Jeb Bush, just had to ask about his daughter with the drug problems. What an ass.
