May I just suggest something that every Freeper talked about for months....

America is fed up with Dasshole and the democrat obstructionism

Republicans have been waiting to get even with Benedict Jeffords.....

and today is payback day........

Have some faith and remember 1994.........

Indeed, the elephant is an apt symbol for our party.

Lott is on Hannity's show right now and sounds quite "chipper." Maybe he has seen the early numbers...

I agree. Maybe I'm wrong, but I view this election as a refendum on:

*The Clintons, (and Dasshole, et al.), and
*The War on Terrorism

I'm fairly optimistic. LET'S ROLL!

Isn't it though?

I have faith, but more of it is directed above.

I've heard reports of high turnout, but mostly in Republican areas like NW North Carolina and New Hampshire. High turnout doesn't hurt us when its in Republican areas.

As I said on another thread....

Don't Republicans tend to vote earlier and Democrats tend to vote later? If so, than the EARLY reports of heavy turnout should reflect an energized Republican base getting out to the polls early!

Also, don't forget...

Republicans well remember how the 2000 election was FALSELY called early for Gore, dampening voters, spirits the Florida panhandle.

Personally I think that the 'unusually high' nature of the turnout is due to a new program - the unusually focused get-out-the-vote drive from the GOP. The 'rats have been doing that for several election cycles already so there would be nothing unusual if it were only the leftist brigades coming out in force.

Lott just said that he's looking for Saxby Chambliss to win in Georgia -- if you know anyone in Georgia that will vote for Chambliss call them and tell them to go vote!

I've always been Republican, and never an early voter....always go after work. (Don't know if that makes me weird, or normal, lol).

I live in a conservative area of the inland empire in southern calif (east of LA) and the turnout at the poll was heavier than I've ever seen it. Had to wait 1/2 hour in line to use the electronic voting equipment.

Afterwards, the LA radio station KNX was lamenting the low turnout and voter apathy in areas closer to LA.

VOTE!

You are quite right about 1994. I remember working the phones. The head of the local election office came back from the polls and said, it does not look good. There is a really big turn out. This is bad for republicans.

Everyone working the phone back then turned almost in unison and said, not this time. Everyone Republican we have called on this list is telling us they voted and voted early.

The turnout was for Republicans.

I don't know what's causing it, but I'm convinced that the people who usually use fraud and the VNS to steal elections, coupled with Benedict Jeffords and the deep seated anger that created, and the wellstone rally and the switcheroo in New jersey, I think IT's Time.......

FWIW I also think in New Jersey many democrats are turned off and staying home, and the independents, who favor Forrester by 15% are turning out......

IMHO
