"No school today in our area - teacher's in-service day."My schoolteacher daughter has an in-service day today, too -- in Virginia.
We use schools as polling places in NM, but school is still in session today.

Caption of President Bush: "You mess with the Machines, you mess with me, my mom, my dad, my Texas, but most of all you mess with the Free Republic."

Finished voting in Ontario, California (San Bernardino County). Voted Republican straight down the ticket. The poll workers there said that the turnout was higher then they had expected. I counted about 5 other people voting, but the polls had only opened 7 minutes earlier.
Come'on California Republicans FIRE GREY DAVIS!

I just finished voting in a larely Republican stronghold Hudson, Ohio. The old folks (God Bless them!) working the booths said they never saw such a heaqvy turnout before. I was worried after seeing an article in our local paper giving the incorrect information regarding polling places. Apparently, people weren't duped.

HAHAHAHA! For sure!

My husband and I cast ours absentee in Chet Edwards district (central TX) a couple of weeks ago. Doubt I'll have any luck in getting rid of him, but I sure hope I helped Cornyn.
Husband took the day off so he could drive people to the polls here in Hawaii... it's a nail biter, and we're hoping for the first Republican governor in 40 years.

Not only did I vote early in case I died before elections (talk about compulsive!), but I told everyone in my family that IF I died and the funeral were held before elections, they had to put it in the funeral bulletin that I would want them to vote Republican as my last and dearest wish! LOL! (No signs, concession stands, applause, chanting, or booing allowed, though. You know, a real funeral.)

It is a contradiction-in-terms to not vote and to be a member of the FreeRepublic.

Just went out in the nasty, miserable rain and voted AGAINST Mary Landrieu! I triple checked to make sure that that green arrow was NOT next to her name.

CA - Voted Simon, McPherson, straight Republican until I got to State Assembly, district 21, where the Libertarian, Ray Bell, is a good friend & co-worker.
All of the propositions, I use a simple test. If I don't know about it and it is going to cost money, the answer is NO! Other propositions get judged on their merits.

"...what are your thoughts on the constitutional ammendments?" Unless I'm actively supporting an Amendment, I usually vote "NO", but I took the time to read thru these and voted "NO" on #1 and "Yes" to #2, which devolved Powers from the State to the Localities.
