BIG WRONG!!!
If the people of Minnesota are stupid enought to elect this guy, and the Senate stays Dem controlled, we are ALL screwed, not just MN.
We can't be blase' about any of these.

I can see the ad now:
Black screen, black and white picture of Mondale in 1984.
NARRATOR: Walter Mondale is for working families?
In quotes, next to Mondale's picture, fade in the words, simple white text, "tax their ass off"
Then why did he say he was going to "tax their ass off?"
In small print, under the quote comes "Source: Showdown at Gucci Gulch, by Jeff Birnbaum
NARRATOR: Call Walter Mondale's office. Tell him NOT to tax our hard working families and seniors.
That's all you need. It could be written, produced and shipped to their media markets in a few hours.
To: Behind Liberal Lines
Why didn't Coleman bring this up in the debate today? The old fart kicked his butt and Coleman let him. Very disappointing. Mondale wins tomorrow.

I am a very conservative Republican and have been since I cast my first Presidential election for Nixon in 1968. I'm just so tired of the GOP not having the tenacity we need to win elections like this one.

Quote by Walter Mondale at a Demorat Convention
"Dan Rostenkowski, standing next to the candidate in front of the cameras and the cheering crowd at the convention after the fateful speech, whispered to Mondale, "You've got a lot of balls, pal."
According to Rostenkowski, Mondale whispered back, "Look at 'em, we're going to tax their ass off."

(Daniel David Rostenkowski) (rs´´tnkou´sk) (KEY) , 1928, U.S. congressman, b. Chicago. A Democrat, he was first elected as a U.S. representative from Illinois in 1958. Rostenkowski became chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee in 1981. He helped secure (1983) legislation to keep the social security system solvent and played a major role in the passage (1986) of a new federal tax code. In 1994, Rostenkowski was indicted on corruption charges and stepped down as Ways and Means chairman; he lost his House seat in the Congressional elections later that year. He pleaded guilty to mail fraud in 1996, and was fined and served (199697) a 17-month sentence. He has subsequently worked as a political consultant and commentator. Rostenkowski was pardoned by President Clinton in 2000. See biography by R. E. Cohen (1999.

"In the face of frauds perpetrated by Democrats in the past, in Northern cities, and the force and fraud used by their allies at the South, to nullify the right of the colored Republicans to vote, I shall not consent to the removal of any safeguards thrown around the ballot-box, intended to prevent such frauds or force anywhere. I favor no forcible or other interferencewith the right to vote, but advocate the employment of all the means, and the exertion of all the power, necessary to secure the free exercise of that right. It will be time to withdraw these, when the Democratic frauds and... bulldozing shall cease." - John I. Mitchell, speech, House of Representatives, April 17, 1879.

Hey, I have "Showdown at Gucci Gulch"! It was assigned to me for a politics class in college (and obviously made the RATS look much sleazier than the GOP), and it's been sitting on a shelf in my breakfast room for years. I keep seeing it and thinking "I really oughta give that another read." Now I definitely will, tonight.

You must not have watched the same debate I watched. Mondale looked old, tired and his response to everything that Norm was a member of the right wing. Mondale looked like a grumpy, bitter old man. It wasn't a pretty sight.
