The story is pretty good, except for the 'Barney' comparison. Implying that an armed citizen is like Barney is a little insulting. With all due respect to Barney Fife.

Barney could be very dangerous, he'd be the first one to tell you that, unless he wus havin' "low sugar blood"(the Fife's are famous for that you know).
On the other hand, you can't beat the classic,
"dance for me, boy!"
