More evidence that the people really would prefer trains.

More evidence that the people really would prefer trains.Maglev is even safer.
Operating on it's own elevated guideway, it eliminates the potential hazards of vehicle collisions that sometimes occur at conventional railway crossings.
Also, the "wraparound" design of the vehicle and guidway eliminates any potential for derailment.
And finally, with the propulsion built into the guideway, potential collisions between different Maglev "trains" is eliminated. Maglev vehicles on the same segment of guideway can ONLY travel in the same direction at the same speed. Absolutely NO CHANCE of one overtaking another, or head-on collisions.

Ah yes, trains. My favorite is Keihan because they have a cute spokesmodel.

I remember Long Beach, the town of my alma mater being foggy, but never THAT foggy... must be the greenhouse effect. (snicker)

"I was heading North on the I-15 doing 80+ in the fast lane."
Going 80 in the fast lane in San Diego County you get honked at, flashing lights and nasty looks!
I was cruising at 85 going to the Simon Rally in Balboa Park this morning and stayed out of the fast lane because everyone was passing me!

Was it North or South of the 405? South of 405 and Fire station 13 located just off Santa Fe and Willow would probably be 1st in and I worked out of that station many years ago.
We responded to several calls on that stretch of the 710. One night a guy put his head throught the windshield and the Corvair rolled, nasty stuff, I can't forget. Went to work on another morning at right to the South of Willow there was a gasoline tanker set of doubles crispified. Thank God I wasn't on duty that night.

This particular wreck will keep many lawyers busy for several years.

Praise God.

Haven't seen those on the 710 yet.

Ok, ok. Everyone go home, it's all a mistake. What you are really looking at is the "road of death" back to Baghdad at the end of the Gulf War.

Going 80 in the fast lane in San Diego County you get honked at, flashing lights and nasty looks! Ain't that the truth. However, at the time I was in a jammed up line of bumper-to-bumper traffic going eighty and really didn't expect to get passed on the left because there was really no place for the fool that did that to pull back in to the regular lanes of traffic.
Usually I'm smart enough to stay out of the fast lane because, being only an 80 mph plus driver, I know that the far left lane's generally reserved for the 95 mph and over crowd.

Fox reported a little while ago that a total of 194 cars and trucks were involved in the pile-up.
Wish I owned a tow truck company in that area right now.
