I guess you could look at it that way, since staying would have only given the Croatian army that much more meat to butcher.

Fusion is either dead in a Moscow theater, or still in a Guantanamo Bay POW camp!

Problem is that your natural anti-Croat bent...I have one of those. I keep in the same pocket with my anti-nazi bent. By the way, our American Bomber Pilots from WW2 would like to have their ears back. Remember? The Croats would often cut them off as trophies before selling our boys to the nazis.

Sorry bub, just another myth. Any more?I beg to differ. I knew one. If I have to choose who to believe, I think I'll go with the guy missing his ear. No offense.

He was always on excellent terms with us Croats, and he wholeheartedly supported our drive for independence against communist Yugoslavia. Much like Margaret Thatcher. It is true they supported anti-communists. I don't think for one second they would have supported the tactics used by the Croats and their Arab Jihadist friends. Are they Croats still allies with the islamonazi mercenaries, or have they changed sides since 9/11? (serious question, no sarcasm. I haven't kept up the last few years)

The Croats of Bosnia had a tactical alliance with the Bosnian Muslims until the latter decided that they wanted the whole of Bosnia...Let us agree that Clinton is evil, the mujahadeen are evil, and that Ronald Reagan was a great President. I think we are hijacking the topic of the thread, a process which I began with my initial statement to you. We should be bashing chechen murderers, which is something we can do together.

I found it at clearguidance.com which is a terrorist sympathizing muslim youth forum. Clearguidance has been shut down and come back twice. (See the online haganah section at simokyfed.com for details.) The story was originally posted at kavkazcenter.com which is an islamic news agency dealing with the Caucus region. The word kavkaz or quoqaz is the islamic name for this region. Kavkazcenter.com is currently unavailable. They will probably come back under a new name (or a similar name) and a new server. They were shut down once before under the name kavkaz.org.
A number of news stories have made reference to Basayev's statement, but I thought it was important to quote the complete text. The Russians and the press are treating it as credible. I view it as the real thing.

Actually Kavkazcenter.com is up and running. I was trying to access it through google which was sending me to kavkaz.org which is down. The webpage there is
http://www.kavkazcenter.com/eng/article.php?id=567
There is also the following statement at the bottom:
From Kavkaz Center: the text of this statement was forwarded to
Kavkaz Center editorial staff by Chief of State Radio and TV
Shamkhan, who printed out the statement of Shamil Abu-Idris with his
own hand. The statement in turn was recorded by the Chechen
Commander on an audiotape. No reports have come in yet whether
President Maskhadov accepted the resignation of his Deputy or not.
