The director of the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Planning resigned Friday in the wake of disclosures linking him to indicted water official Monte McFall and to San Joaquin County Sheriff Baxter Dunn.
An FBI search warrant affidavit unsealed Thursday says N. Allen Sawyer joined McFall and Dunn in a corporation that was "permeated with fraud" and appeared to have been "created solely in order to perpetrate ... extortion and fraud schemes."

Poster's Notes: Just in time for Tuesday's election, yet another duplicitous watershed from the Governor himself. Davis dumped on his pal Allen Sawyer who he appointed to the influential Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP), the California agency that oversees billions in federal and state grants for crime prevention and suppression, and victim services. In the early '90's I found myself at odds with OCJP as Clinton's COPS Grant fraud began corrupting big city police chiefs and mayors (See: COPS Grantgate) When I returned from the 1994 International Chiefs of Police annual conference, held in New Mexico that year, I found I was no longer welcome at the OCJP's Community Policing Advisory Committee.
That the FBI refers to N. Allen Sawyer as being part of McFall and Dunn, a corporation that was "permeated with fraud" and appeared to have been "created solely in order to perpetrate ... extortion and fraud schemes" comes a no surprise. What is surprising is the Bee's coverage days before the elections... yet another stinging indictment of the Davis Camp's Pay for Play Politics. If the federal Justice Department ever investigates OCJP and COPS, I suspect a number of Davis appointees and the State Attorney General would be running for cover.
Striking in today's Bee story is the conflicting statements by Allen and Davis themselves:
Sawyer says he planned to leave at the end of the year, but resigned because of the FBI affidavit. He insisted that Davis did not seek the resignation. "I didn't want it to affect the governor's campaign, so I took a little early vacation," he told the Bee.
But Davis told The Bee, "He resigned today at my direction. It is an example of someone who made a mistake, and we acted quickly to correct it."
Typical of Davis Dupe's Denials, comes Allen's "I did nothing wrong" in his "limited partner" and "not an active participant" in the corporation. "It looked like just a good investment opportunity. I didn't know McFall from Adam." Sure... people lend their names to strangers in partnerships all the time Mr. Allen.
The Bee, in unusual candor goes on to report:
"The affidavit says that Sunlaw executives told agents Sawyer 'introduced himself as a member of the governor's office and a partner in MSD Ventures.' He provided them his Governor's Office business card."
Two Sunlaw executives, along with McFall, Sawyer and Dunn, met on April 9, 2001, in a state agency conference room arranged by Sawyer. "It was a quiet place to talk on short notice," Sawyer said Friday. "It was incidental use. It was stupid, and I shouldn't have done it, but it was not improper."
A Sunlaw executive corresponded with Sawyer through his government e-mail address, his personal e-mail address, and via telephone and facsimile, the affidavit says. "There were a couple of incidental uses of e-mail," Sawyer said Friday. "Not a violation of any state policy."
"Sawyer indicated to (Port Director Richard) Aschieris that the governor's office supported the Sunlaw bid," the affidavit says.
Davis spokesman Steve Maviglio declined Friday to comment on the affidavit.
California State Government and the liberal liars in the Legislature have much to be held accountable for. I don't know if it's possible for the Bee to turn from it's Pravda style propaganda, but this news item is a start. This writer has pressed for the truth more years than I can count... where there's smoke, their either mirrors or fire... you be the judge!
yet another stinging indictment of the Davis Camp's Pay for Play Politics.
Might as well ask them to find a black cat in a completely dark room--a cat that doesn't even exist.
Criminal justice planning? /sarcasm

The affidavit, which supported a search warrant for McFall's home in Lathrop, says Sawyer used state equipment and facilities in MSD's attempt on behalf of a Los Angeles energy company to secure a contract to build a power plant at the Port of Stockton.

Not in our lifetime. ABCNNBCBS is still posting bulletins to look out for the white racist sniper driving a white van in the DC area.
This weekend they will probably run every old show they can find on Watergate and RMN.
Their butt buddy maggots who control the editorial boards of the LA Slimes, The Bees, San Jose Mercury and SF Gayrhonicle have known about how dishonest Davis has been going back the the 1980's. However, since Davis is for expanding so call gay rights, all forms of abortion and brings in illegal aliens non stop, they have spiked these stories since the 1980's!
They will do anything to win elections and will corrupt any offce they hold.
Sad and scary.
DITTO !!!!!
Mostly about being democrats. Their current leadership is, for the most part, Socialists and Communists who are unwilling to publically admit it. That is the 'BIG LIE' that most real(conservative and moderate) democrats fail to see in their once bipartisan(America first) party.
